I guess this a very simple question, but I think it is something that can help people using the HUD become profitable. What is a sample HUD that you use and if you can tell me why you feel these particular stats are important?:D

Check out HM2's YouTube page. Everything you will ever need to know is right there. Way to broad of a question, I'm assuming that's why no one has replied to you yet....

A lot of default HUDs contain simple and basic stats such as VP$IP PFR and 3bet.
C-bet and fold to C-bet are pretty standard also. Adn I want to have sample size displayed.
Adding different stats for different situations is great but learning how and when to use them can be the tricky part. I am always wanting to tweak my HUD but sometimes moving and adding stats can become confusing and cluttered.
IMO its best to start basic and work in other stats slowly.

A great hud for you will be nothing like mine as they should match our playing style.

A good hud for a Nit would need different information than a Tag or Manics hud because they all need to react differently to the exact same information and situations.

We probably should use a different hud for each type of game we play too.

It also depends how much space there is to place that info. Hu tables have a lot of space vs a full table etc etc etc. lol.

All stats are important but for different reasons.

Take the 3bet and 4bet stats for eg, they may allow us to construct a clearer range on opponents in any hand as soon as we see them 3bet 4bet or not. The % shows what hands we can discount form his range or not etc.

On and on it goes and it gets really personal. Each to his own as they say.

Hi Regh!

The first thing I'd advise to you is that one stat isolated doesn't indicate much. The goal of your stats should be a combonation of them that helps you get a clearer picture of how the opponent tends to play in common situations.

For instance,

Say I only had the stats that were PFR/VPIP and Cbet

Player A: someone with a 49/20 - 70

Player B: someone with a 15/14 - 70

If I were to look at these players cbetting stat, I would see they are 70% for both, and might think that I would play the same way vs both of them. BUT, that would be wrong

You see one player starts off with a MUCH wider range than the other, AND they both cbet 70%.

Vs the first player a I am apt to raise flops, float, etc, QUITE OFTEN

Vs Player B, his range is so tight preflop that his flop cbetting range is going to be rather strong. This means, I'd rarely make plays on him.

Now your job is to try and figure out combinations of stats that you can use to "get an overall idea" of what the player habitually does, and then try out some counter strategies.

The VPIP number alone says quite a bit about your villians. A VPIP of 75 means your villian is playing about 75% of their hands, which means they are playing pretty loose. Taking together with other numbers, you can determine if they are loose/aggressive or loose/passive (how much are they betting in other words).

Then you compare those numbers to their seat positions, and it can give you a pretty good idea of their overall playing style if you have a few hundred hands recorded on them.

It's a valuable tool.
