Obviously I shouldn't be calling or raising 100% of the time against a standard 15% 3betting range and nor should I be calling or raising with a 70% range - I think, how do know how that important position is in HU, although I know it is very important but do I want to be calling with K2s and 83s repeatedly? So what is a standard 3bet calling range against a 15% 3betting range? 20%? 25%? And what kind of hands? Do I avoid anything with between a 2 or 7 in my hand to make postflop play easy?

And, also, for clarification, let's say the button raise is 3x and the bb is 9x-11x, 100-200bb poker.

Someone who plays more HU could correct me, but I think "it depends". I know that very good players will call with K2s and 83s. BUT, they will do it a % of the time, this helps balance their range on certain boards. For instance, Isildur will defend such hands, but only maybe half the time.

Depends on the villain. HU is the wildest horse out there. You have to adapt to the opponent. There are several general lines though. Read the HU part from "Easy Game vol 1"from Balugawhale. It explains how to beat the average HU player. If you are already able to, than it beats me.

This isn't how poker works. A play is either profitable or it isn't. You don't just randomly call with K2s sometimes and not others based on a coinflip: "Gee, I called last time, so I'll fold this time."

I really have to disagree with you there. Another example of this same logic would be UTG in a full ring game. It is a good idea in tuffer games to play a couple hands like 45s and 56s. The idea behind this is that they add value to the rest of your range. This is typically only vs more sophisticated opponents/tuffer line ups.

If you are playing in a soft game, where you don't need to consider ranges and can play more hands in a vacuum, then you'd probably be correct.

I play HU quite regularly, and when i get K2 i usually will a lot of the time call depending on the opponents raise, this is because the K adds value to my hand. Hands like 82 and 62 i will almost always fold however, there is really not much equity in calling IMO.
