I just don't know how calling is a good play though I agree it sucks folding this hand
Well, first of all, you're not automatically calling. Like if you raise, one player 3bets you, and then another 4bets him, you may consider a fold if you believe stacks will be getting in between them. You also may shove against really loose/aggro players who raise widely and are willing to get it in preflop with lots of hands.
AK has 30%+ equity against any range wider than AA/KK. Mathematically, you're usually getting the right price to call. For example:
Player 1 opens to 3BB with AK,
Player 2 3bets to 9BB,
Player 1 4bets to 27BB,
Player 2 5bets to 57BB.
The pot is 84BB and Player 1 owes 30BB. Player 1 is getting about 2.8:1 on his money, which means he needs only 26% equity or better to make the call.
AK also has the added advantage of flopping a very powerful hand (TPTK) when it does hit.
If you make the call and miss, there's no one way to play it. It depends on position, stack sizes, player tendencies, etc. Even if you're playing fit-or-fold with it, the point is you still have mathematical incentive to call in a lot of cases. Now, if Player 2 5bets and/or shoves 100BB or more instead of 57BB, things change.
You'll always have to consider player ranges/tendencies in any situation.
