Hi Newqy and welcome to Cardschat. If I missed your introduction I will use this post as a reply to it. To start with, is the fact that you have started asking questions. That's how this forum works. Ask questions and get answers of opinions or advice, and you should use it, because I found out years ago that it does work. Ok here is a question or two for you. What level of play are you at? If it's more than 4nl or 5nl, that's your first mistake. How many hours are you playing? Playing tired, hungry, depressed, or putting off other things you need to do which causes guilt is not good. All of these things will hurt you focus. How are you dealing with any tilt problems, if you are tilting at all? Tilt has no place in you game, and if you are tilting, ask some questions on here about dealing with it. It really can be overcome. So that's my 2 cents. GL to you

don't play

Step one stop playing micro stakes cash games. The level of stupidity at this level has to be pretty bad so why play against opponents for pennies when the whole table will shove for a hope and prayer in that big 85 cent pot.

the micros are a great place to work on your game, you probably just want to focus on value betting

the micro players usually are difficult to bluff so just wait until you have a good hand and bet it for value

What stakes would you suggest? Surely you risk losing more at higher stakes?

Don’t worry Newqy, all players lose first, your losses are not too bad, plenty of time to improve.

You start to get even, just by being value heavy, betting good hand, folding bad ones. Remember to have tight opening ranges, and tight calling ranges.

Second step is to start folding even good hands , when you think you are mostly beat.

Third step is guessing what the opponent has given his profile, if he is wild you play differently, if he is nit you play against that style. At this point you are dominating your level. Remember to make notes, this is the key for 3rd step.

For adaption people like Mikesiance777 is happy to give you his whole stack with over pair when you hit your set, that is the way for domination in third step, but not all players are like that. For domination you need to know who is who.

I found to be the best philosophy when playing the smaller stakes .01/.02,.02/.05 and .05/.10 is play aggressively with your good hands and don't chase draws unless you are getting the correct odds to do so. Another words play super tight and let the fish pay off your big hands. You will be surprised at how many times they will. Look for the good players at the table and try to avoid confrontation with them the fish will have enough to go around for all of you. If you are experiencing tilt take a second and look at what happened in the hand, if you are getting it in good then that is all you can ask for and last but certainly not least small hand small pot big hand big pot. Welcome to CC and good luck on the felts!

Some players are very aggressive in micro stake cash games.
Only play with good hand, or get ready to keep on re-raise after flop.
If there are players play very tight and aggressive at table, leave and choice another table.
