I played many freerolls and tournament but still i don't know what is the best way to play. I have won few freerolls, but it was just many good hands. How to play when it is dealing all the time shit hands? bluffing? Most of the players don't have nothing to lose so they call all the time even their hands are shit too. Ok, you play like 30 hands and then you get AK, so you bet, they call of course with their shit hand and the flop is like T 4 6, then they raise or go all in. Just don't know a good strategie to play small amount tournaments.

Bluffing seldom works in freerolls. Stick to the tight-aggresive style of play and be patient. It can be hard not to panic when your chips are decreasing and the blinds are increasing, but it's never too late to make a comeback. You must be doing something right to have actually won a FR- have you tried the daily $1000 one at Dream Poker? They also now have S&G freerolls, but they're very popular and fill up fast. Haven't been able to get on one yet.

A quick strategy guide

Hyper-Agg/Tight strategy in the Beginning rounds
AA ,KK,QQ all in
AK AQ all in
JJ I would bet Half My Stack (if no overcards on flop...All in)
10 10 Limp Raise Agg.
this strategy did well for me when I was a freeroller.
If you hit you will have plenty of chips to play effectively after the first break.....If anybody wants to add to this strategy you are more than welcome.

In freerolls you usually have to have the goods, because anyone that caught top pair with a suited connector or such is calling at least but probably raising to see where they're at. A lot of newbies will push top pair all in on the flop like it's the nuts. So I just fold and save my chips for the time when I know I am a 3 to 1 favorite at least.

best not to think of freerolls as poker...

more like bingo or go-fish for at least an hour, 'til the 'any ace' idiots thin out...

bluffing is only effective if you've set an image or if your table is tight

change it up... freerolls are the place to go all-in with suited connectors if you tire of fools raising with A9o UTG

there's no use getting mad... even in the second hour some idiot will knock you out on the river, calling all your raises on with a gutshot draw

I tend to do ok by playing tight. After about 20 or 30 hands I can do some stealing if I'm very selective about it. I'll get caught sometimes, then its back to the tight game. After awhile, tables tend to tighten up and then you can win some hands.

Show up late. 4 or 5 orbits late. You will miss the majority of maniacs. Then don't play for another 2 orbits. Just watch. You will gain valuable info about who is playing how. Then wait for a monster. this may take another 5 orbits, but when you get it, everyone will fold, and you will get sent to another table.

By now you will have blinded down to half the started stack size. Everyone else will be glad the maniacs are gone, and you can start playing. Be the maniac they thought had gone. But wait until you are the BB so you can can all the pple into the pot. Any connectors will do.

Remove tongue from cheek as you either scoop in a big pot, or look for the exit.

Don't try to make a living on freerolls. Stick with it if you're trying to get a bankroll going then leave as soon as possible.

In the freeroll you should only play premium hands and raise raise raise.
Once you get deep into it the play will probably get better but still you can expect anything.

Yeah, bluffing in freerolls does not work in the majority of situations. I've managed to pull it off once or twice but that was with short stacks. As a lot of people have said, you need to have good hands in freerolls in order to have a shot. Just wait until you get a real good hand and hopefully you can trap someone to get their chips. Although I would say, something Phil Ivey said before his PAD, to go for the big risks early because if you go out early, then you can just go eh, but if you go out right before the money playing real tight, not happy.

I'll sometimes join in the all-in madness first hand if i'm not really in the mood to play but usually i'll wait a while for the idiots to get knocked out then play very loose, seeing as many flops as possible and when i get a decent hand i'll commit myself to it and usually end up all-in. Not the best tactics i know but i keep getting closer to the money.

I have placed in a freeroll once and in the last 3-4 i've come in at least the last 500 out of 2700
