don't do it if you're trying to make money
don't get me wrong
you can
but dont do it to (if you want to have a BLAST)

play it to get experience
play it when you are on something (and i don't mean cushion....i mean mattress....or whatever u want...haha)

you will laugh and have SOOOOO much fun doing it it's unbelievable

you will laugh your ass off when someone bets 10x the pot
(pot is $35.....and he bets $8,000)
who the hell that knows how to play is gonna call?????

1) who cares.....it's free people
2) easy way to double up....(but that'll NEVER happen in a REAL tourny.and when i say real, i mean anything above $50 buy-in)
3) he got the nuts and is slowing playing waitting for a superdonk like you

anyways....so many things you see will crack you up!!!!!
and when you play.....play for REAL like your doing in $50 or more tourny

you will 1st start to see unbelievable things
then you will start to just laugh
it is REALLY fun

i do it on weekends when i got no where to go!!

give it a try.....

and also....talk to the people
and if he says unpleasant things.....
just reply:
I'm sorry.....i suck
i don't know why i said that
I'll just shut now
I'm truly sorry
it wont happen again

HAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

you just have to expect a lot of plays, but do not get too heated. you will need much more luck than you are used to.

UB freerolls missing

Anybody know where all the free rolls at Ultimate Bet have gone? I cut my teeth there and now there aren't any that I can find.

Freerolls for laughs

yeah if you keep the right mind set it can be very funny,it can also be very educational in that nothing can teach you patience quite like playing in a freeroll...but that about where the education ends.from there on in you have to remember why the guy with 2-4 clubs stayed in to catch a runner runner hand versus the set you flopped...because he has nothing invested, but the place for attempting changes in your game is definately freerolls,,,where you too can make mistakes without it costing you...by this i mean value betting and continuation betting...things that become 2nd nature to a more experienced player tho applying it in a freeroll gives you the opportunity to see when and where to use it and how position is a key in developing these skills...so i agree, kick back, relax, expect to be sucked out on,try out new skills and have fun!

UB doesn't list the freerolls until about 2 hours before they start. 10:15, 12:15, 2:15 etc. On weekdays.

freerolls are just for fun to me, it's an added bonus if you win anything. :)

In the huge ones, I try to play a solid game, and go as far as I can (especially in the Ft 2700 Holdem player ones). Also, I'm looking to try to play more aggressive in the mid-stages, but I don't know when to semi-bluff etc. I play too tight in the mid stages, even in freerolls.

I think they are good experiences for people without much experience. And, when I am winning, it is FUN!! :)

I rarely go on tilt playing online except for some reason in the freerolls. I guess I rarely play for the amount of $ that can be possibly won so it tears me up more when I get my KK donked by 8 10os.

freerolls are good teaching tools for players learning the game

but i cant stand a freeroll now unless its a private game that i have earned an entry to by perhaps playing so many buyins in a league series

just makes no sense for me to play several hours for little money

but if u are just starting out then thats the way to go don't make big deposits learn the game first

Reverse Psychology is my favorite thing to do at play money tables and freerolls. Type in the chat box incessantly. Start calling people idiots when they get knocked out. And

When you have the nuts bet really small so someone comes over the top of you all the way to the river then push all in on the turn and my top favorite things to say at this point are:

1) I have ace high, can you beat that?
2) Oh no don't call just save, just save your chips and fold.
3) I'm drawing
4) I missed my flush/straight
5) I have three pair!
6) Damn I needed a two.
7) I have an inside straight draw
8) I have a backdoor flush draw, I'm hoping to get there.
9) I HAVE 7 3!!!!

Full Tilt is good for freerolls. Just have to be careful when you move back to cash games. Lots of all-ins.

yea, freerolls are fun. you just have to remeber that you can't bring the same playing still the real tables. Sometimes I catch myself wanting to play as if I'm in a freeroll.

I try to to get as far as I can in freerolls. I play low limit poker on FTP, and the freerolls are a way to learn to beat the wild crazy games. And if you can't beat a calling station(even some aggressive ones), then you certainly can't beat a TAG player. True you will have your aces get cracked by a dolly parton frequently on free-rolls, but by applying strategies against LAG and LP players will help you improve your game imensly. You never know who you might sit down at a table with even at a higher stake. Because of this, you want to know how to exploit all styles of play. The strategies used in medium level stakes, and higher stakes are drastically different then in lower limits. Alot of the semi-bluffs and sr8tegic value bets, offering horrible calling odds don't matter. They will take their middle pair and slam all of their chips in the middle. I play my tightest game in freerolls, going as far as laying down AK sometimes. I like to see flops in crazy games. People who can't play like to "crap shoot" and gamble preflop. Everyone wants to get their money in with any 2 cards. Facing 5 callers holding pocket aces going to the flop your only 23% fav. to win by showdown, very sobering. I do like to raise occasionally with good multiway hands tho, and this is where i'm increasing my deceptiveness and strategy for getting better at playing "rags". I might throw in 3x BB with JTs or T9s because i'm almost positive i'll get a bunch of callers. When the table starts to tighted up as the field gets down to it's last 25% this play still works if i have been tight myself and i have a table image of that. I'd bet that extremly high limits are alot like the freerolls in a way, because so much money is involved, to where it becomes who's got the balls to bet the 27k bet on a draw. I dunno, i don't play those limits whatsoever because i can't afford that, but when i watched high stakes cash and SNG on FTP is was like every other hand all in ; a crap shoot. I generally find a TAG is still the best approach.

lol that's a good approach. It's important not to let anything tilt you at the table, if you let things get to you it's only hurting your own game.

I enjoy playing the game, that's enough for me.
I mean, I try not to gamble in poker, no matter what my investment is.
Still, I totally agree with you that it's important to be friendly at the table and have fun.

I like them to pass the time, plus its good practice for real tournies. Pretty close situation to the real games, or at least up until the first break in a real game.
