What is the best way to play AK at a micro table in a situation like this?
$0.05/$0.10 NLHE 9 Players on Bovada
I had just sat down about one orbit before so I don't have any reads or anything.
The starting stacks for the hand were as follows
UTG $3.50
UTG+1 $33.63
UTG+2 $2.80
UTG+3 (ME) $16.34
UTG+4 $6.49
Dealer $9.62
SB $4.09
BB $11.33

I'm dealt :kc4: :ad4:
UTG calls $0.10
UTG+1 Raises $0.30
UTG+2 calls $0.30
UTG+3 (ME) calls $0.30
UTG+4 Folds
Dealer Folds
Small Blind Folds
Big Blind Calls
UTG Calls

Flop :9h4: :3d4: :as4:

Big Blind Checks
UTG Checks
UTG+1 Bets $0.80
UTG+2 Calls $0.80
UTG+3 (ME) Calls $0.80
Big Blind Folds
UTG Folds

TURN :7s4:
UTG+1 Checks
UTG+2 All-in $1.70
UTG+3(ME) Calls $1.70
UTG+1 Folds

River :8h4:

Results below:
UTG+2 Had :ac4: :js4:

This hand obviously worked out well, but my main question with this is how do I play AK preflop in a spot like that? Should I 3-bet some of the time, or is just a call good in a spot like that? Also is just calling the flop a good thing since it's a pretty dry board that I really don't need to worry to much about protecting?
Thanks, I didn't put this in the hand analysis section because I'm looking for more general strategy rather than stuff that is specific to this hand.
Also what would be the best play if I the ace on the flop would have been something like a 10?
Thanks a bunch

I re raise pre flop here. To maybe about $1.20 I personally NEVER flat call the 30 cents. I think that's bad. But it worked out in the specific case. Try to thin the field preflop and get 1 or 2 callers tops. It's like flatting with aces, it can really come back to bite u in the arse.

Thanks for the advice, if I were to reraise pre flop how do I play the hand when I miss an ace or king? Also what do I do if he 4 bets me to something like $3 preflop?

If he 4 bets you here, you need to think about the type of player he is. Has he been loose and aggressive? Or super nitty. If he's really nitty and would only be doing this with kings or aces, depending on how strong a read u have u can either flat call or fold. Another line you could take is since there is only two possible hands that have u dominated preflop you could possibly even represent aces or kings and jam into his 4 bet since u have decent equity against almost any two holdings. Now lets say u elect to flat call that 30 cent raise and U miss the flop since I personally hate that line preflop I would probably check fold unless I'm in position i bet out 2/3 pot and look for a fold. You need to figure out how often players like this fold to c bets. U wouldn't want to c bet bluff into someone who always calls on the flop. Watch the players carefully take notes if you need to. Hopefully this was helpful :)
