Beeen trying some 6max holdem and I am lost in stragety
Sometime there's only 3, 4, 5 players when someone sits out.
So far I found I need to widen up my starting hands and catogorize some good hands as premium hands.
Ax seems to play better at 6max.
JJ QQ AJ KQ QJ KJ would be as consider premium in 6max IMO along with AK AQ AA KK
Any advice?

6max is much more of an action game than FR, and even more so when a table isn't filled up. Ax plays better because there are fewer opponents who might have you outkicked, Other hands can play better for similar reasons; e.g. KJ and other broadways. OTOH, suited connectors may not play as well; because there are fewer opponents, the implied odds for playing them may not be the same.

I think the bigger component of your game at small tables is to add in the bluff factor. Play more hands and make the other feel you have at least top pair. Not to often, but enough. stealing is big at this level.

Thanks for the advice and reference.
Im finding the broadway cards are more value in 6 handed.
A-x also more value but I still dont like playing A2 A3 A4 A5 yet .
small pocket pairs and suited connectors play the same as FR.

I play 6 max all the time.

I find that playing a tight game with big bets on premium hands makes for the biggest wins.

I don't see a whole lot of PF folding in 6. You almost always get a caller.

I think there are loose 6max and tight 6max tables.
I was playing last night and in the first table was a loose. There was a lot of single calls to PF raiser and flop was seen almost every hand. Hardly any 3 bets
Next table I played hardly any calls to the PF raiser I saw a flop maybe one out of every 4-5 dealt hands. There was a lots of 3bets preflop---> fold or PF raise --> fold. or if there was a call then multiple callers so 3 to the flop not the usually 2 in the other game. This was a tougher game.

Yes they are. Other thing to add in your game is to show some decent starting hands when you raise and get no callers. that goes a long way in 6 handed.

The basic rules: hand selection, aggression, and position are still very important. The main difference is that you can loosen up slightly more preflop, and it's easier to target certain fishes.

Fees has a free 6 max guide you can read, pokerufo has a book that's pretty good as well.
