I have been reviewing hands and I feel that many times I make a decision to quickly. How much time do you take per decision? Pre Flop? Flop? Turn? River? Do you quickly make bets sometimes? Thanks everyone.

This is something I need to work on for sure. I go into robot mode too easily. And I'm in the bad habit of having YouTube or something on in the background. I'm certain I have timing tells because of it. If I'm tanking, I'm probably really stuck and considering my options. Or I suppose just really into a video for a second lol.

Time for me to focus more and take some time to consider my actions. I look forward to some of the answers in this thread.

not all situations are the same, sometimes taking a decision would only take seconds

Of course. I'm just saying generally I know I make less than optimal plays more than I should because of auto-pilot.

I usually when I play live I take a little more time to make a decision, because with the players that I play live they are really good

I make very quick decisions, it might take longer if I take into account the calculations of odds, and impliede odds, but I end up making decisions almost automatically, based on my reading the board and some villain's tell.

With a well-trained mind you'll probably make your best decisions in a fraction of a second. It's second guessing ourselves that gets us in trouble.

I wish I could take the same amount of time with every hand and every street.

Online or live.

Something for me to work on!

I take as much time as I need. If I'm sticking to my game plan lots of decisions are automatic. I try not to tank too much unless there's a big pot and I'm faced with a big bet.

Posturing in live games seems like a waste of time to me. If I'm straight bluffing and someone jams, I don't hem and haw like I have a big decision to make, I'd rather just move on to the next hand.. I dunno why people do that.

very fast solutions can bring to the loss so I try to think about 10 seconds especially in the endings of tournaments when you get tired

As I said, with a well-trained mind you can make decisions in a split second, and there are very good Apps to train your mind, it's worth a look.:top:

it is important to take the time approved according to the specific game situation ... because even if you do not believe it you are sending a message to the villains according to the time you take when making your decisions ... for example if you play very fast you could understand that you do not have anything good in your cards ...!

Depending on the clock hahaha. sometimes in poker online, I believe that you addapt yourself according to the time the clock gives to you, if you have plenty of time you take it, if you dont, you just try quickly to make a good desition.

Currently I am trying to make myself make desicions much faster than I did before. I stop only when I am not sure of strongness of my hand and need time to think that over. Or when I am going to bluff. It needs time to think of the hand I am going to present.
Only difficult situations make me think a bit longer.

I don't take to much time to make a play unless I
am close to payout, then I use the hold clock every
time hoping to make the bubble. Sorry!

I usually act within the 5 secs but sometimes I take a little more time to act to make my opponent think that I don't have a very strong hand and then I usually bet.

I'm usually pretty quick. Within 5 seconds and I hardly ever use my time bank except for huge decisions that don't come around very often

As long as you need... to make the RIGHT decision. This can be a snap decision on the river facing a bet, or a tank on the flop facing a 4bet.

I usually have a general plan ahead of action, so I only need a couple seconds to process new information.

It helps to have some default actions based on your hands, previous action and board texture. You can modify themon the fly.

you can take as long as you want, but if you have a good hand you should bet faster, people who are bluffing to to bet quicker, when people go in the tank for a good amount of time, they are usually trying to figure out how much to get paid.

I usually try and take my time preflop and have a plan for the hand based on position, my opponents, stack sizes, my hand. Think through how I am going to react if I am 3 bet or shoved on. Then what I will do on various flops and opponents actions. What I will do on certain flop textures, what the turn and river may bring. I am working on studying spots that come up frequently to make this process more automatic. So usually it takes me longer preflop than on other streets.
