I have tried 16 tables before but felt that it didn't really add much more profit. Lately I don't really play more than eight at a time. The higher the stakes the more you have to start thinking about the plays and reading players rather than making standard methodical moves. Zone poker I don't play for the same reason.

10 is my maximum that i am truly comfortable with. i would just stick with 8 and move up when you feel like you are ready. pushing it and playing too many tables could be the reason why you are seeing an equal play.

honestly didnt keep count somewhere in the range of 24-28 sngmtts on stars cant remember what the cap was but i was right around it

*** one full cascade on stars is 16 tables right? bc i had that plus 6-8 more i think not positive***

used to 6 table rush mtt sngs all the time, really sucked when i would have a few more bc i could tile more then 6

the 6 table or 4 table of rush isnt as bad as mass tabling bc at least when you needed time there were few things to think about its harder to do like 20 tables in a 6 tile layout

i had table ninja on that computer and it make things so much easier, clearly my note taking didnt exist and i was honestly playing too many my backer at the time was asking me what i had as i was playing and i wouldnt have a clue of which spot he meant so clearly was just clicking buttons lol

I could probably handle at least 4, but I REALLY am not a huge fan of play more than 2 at once.

The more tables you play, the more focus you have to spread.

yes but if your bb per 100 doesn't go down a lot but your hands per hour goes up a lot you make a lot more money an hour

most people don't wanna make sub minimum wage per hour if they can help it but if you have the time and dont need the money your play will likely be better

If your smart about it, then yes.

but keep in mind: the more you play the more you have to pay attention to.

I'm just not a fan of having my focus on 10 tables instead of 1-3. I COULD play more than that, but you really don't get the time to make decisions.

I always try for 12 tables now if possible. I used to play 24 on Stars, but there just isn't enough running on the US facing sites now.

you have to multi site now a days the problem is one of the bigger ones (bovada) is awful to tile bc of the odd sizing

was looking at 2p2 and a few freeware programs like table tamer was looking at that but would need some time to fiddle to learn how to make it work

all i want is something to cleanly tile every site on my 2 screens

Back when I played on Stars I would 24 table full ring, and on occasion I would add 6-8 tables of Full Tilt as well.

Now I play smaller sites, and usually play 16-20 tables of 6max.

At lower stakes I don't hesitate to play 8 or more. In higher stakes games 4 is my limit. If Im playing a big MTT, (25k or more) its the only thing I have open except maybe my music player. Big money, narrower focus.

I was able to play max. 4 at once... It is too complicated to make notes when you have even more tables... :)

6 max table 4 or 5 tables. 9 max 6 tables. you dont have to play in a lot of tables if you dont feel confortable by doing so.

I think two tables is the maximum when you want to show some skills and watch the opponent carefully. But i personally play 4 freerolls at the same time only to know where i can a longer periode than half an hour.

The more tables you play, the more focus you have to spread.
Mass multitable is not a skill that you can develop imediatly. It comes in time. I probabely require the same amount of focus playing 12 table as you need playing 2 tables.
Most of my decisions are automatic because they are standard for me now. I require focus only at 10% of the decisions i make.
Of course this is only at micros. There are no situations i cannot handle because i only target the fish. When i play 10NL or 16NL i have to drop down to 8 or 6 because i have to deal with a lot more regs. Not the best regs but still there are a lot more decisions that require focus.
Every one of us started at one table. We increased the number of tables in time. There are a lot of things a player need to improve at. Probabely the best books that explain and advise a player on how to become better are "Treat your poker like a business" by Leatherass and "The mental game of poker" by Jared Tadler. You not only need to learn poker but you need to improve a lot of other things. The cruel reality is that 99,99% of the good poker players of the world made it where they are by putting up volume and by increasing their lvl little by little. There is no way around and that is a fact. There is no shortcut. The players that you saw on TV like Negreanu, Helmuth, Ivey etc are special. They are like Messi of poker. They made their money being the best at live poker playing high stakes. They cannot multitable at online poker but they do not need to anymore. After all there are not too many players playing at 100000NL. They cash huge promoting different poker sites.
For a new poker player that is not possible anymore. If they dream at winning the wsop than 99.9999 of them will keep dreaming untill they die.
So what is left? Mass multitable and a lot of work at your poker game, mental strenght, phisical strength, I think anyone if who is not retarded can do that. If someone is thinking that playing 1 or 2 tables will get him somewhere, he is wrong

I can agree with this and accept this.

Then again I only just started playing online poker recently, so my opinion probably doesn't mean much in comparison to the veterans here.

I'll see what I think of this more in a year or so.
