Hi everyone. NLHE 6 Max ZOOM cash game on pokerstars.
Some people say 20 buy ins and some people say 50 buy ins.
How many buy ins is recommended 20 or 50 and why?

There is no right answer to that question. If you have representative sample and you know you have an edge on certain level, then probably 20 is enough (but then if you can't bluff in good bluff spots, because you are afraid of loosing 5% of your buyin, then probably it is too little). If you are not sure, then maybe it would be better to go bigger, just to feel comfortable.

I recommend watching this video:

If you are sure you have an edge on the average players from the stake you want to play, 25 buyins is very confortable. But be ready for some madness from the short term poker, bad beats will be present sometimes.

I'd recommend 30-40 buyins to be on the safer side. Some people are fine with 20 BI but there can be a lot of swings in zoom poker.

You need one buy-in for the level and 20 for previous. If you need to ask, 30 minimum. If you need to ask twice 50 minimum. If you still don't get it you need again only one buy-in, but you need to re-buy a lot.

50 for playing on the limit.
30 - you have to buy or take a step down the limit.

From 25 to 50 buy ins, The game is very fast, the dispersion is crazy, the more buy ins you have the less the chance of losing your bankroll

Hy,as U might have noticed in cash game things happen quite fast in terms of thinking. At least it happens to me.
So pots get quite big very quickly. so I recon at least 40-50 BB. And stay cool and don´t go all in too often...
Someone will get U with crazy cards

You hit the nail on the head, its subjective (GTO people wouldn't say that perhaps) but 50 is much closer to accurate than 20 lol, I'd prefer 100.

For 6 max I would recommend 100 buy ins for 9 max 50 buy ins. For normal cash games 10-15 buy ins less.

About 10,000 buy-ins sounds right. :D :D :D :D

Avoid zoom games like the plague they are. If you don't have the patience to wait while running card dead, then you shouldn't be playing. You are using that down time to observe your opponents, aren't you?

Aren't you?

Would I need less buy ins for 5NL than 2NL and less buy ins for 10NL than 5NL?
Do I play at the same limit until I have enough buy ins to move up to the next?
Say I choose to go with 30 buy ins for 2NL. Do I play that until I have 30 buy ins for 5NL and so on?
And when do I move down in limits?
I've never used bankroll management before and I'm just trying to figure out how to move up and down in limits.

20 buy-ins should be good but get 50 buy-ins for the variance

I think I'm going to go with at least 35 buy ins starting at 2NL and try to work my way up from there.
Will it be hard to move up from 2NL starting with 35-50 buy ins?
