That is the question. It's only a matter of time really. I've went broke so many times before, it's just what I do. I lose at poker.

But I'm going to update you until I do, or maybe, just maybe this will be the one time I actually succeed at building a bankroll from nothing (well second time, I did it once before, turning $200 into $4400 over the course of 2 or 3 weeks playing $200nl but of course I eventually went broke.)

So two days ago I found myself down to my last $11 on ACR. I simply refuse to deposit anymore (at last until I get a little more scratch built up) but I decided the time has come to go for it. All or nothing, liferoll it, everything on the table.

Day 1) turned $10 into $31.
Day 2) turned $25 into $50, bringing my total to $61.

You can see where I'm going with this. My master plan, grand scheme, pipe dream is to double up every day until I hit either 2/4 or 5/10 (depending on what games are available and how good they are) then continue that double up strategy until I've built a proper bankroll for those limits. My guess, I'll go broke tonight or tomorrow (I can't remember the last time I've won more than 5 sessions in a row, and normally 2 or 3 is all I'm good for, but we'll see.)

I'm pretty focused, in playing smarter, making the all important "big laydowns" (something I used to never do, which obviously is why I kept going broke) Oh and I'm playing Omaha, because I'm either crazy or a genius, again we'll have to wait and see. I'll keep the updates coming as long as I'm still playing. Hopefully this will be the journey from $11 to $12k but honestly, that would be a miracle.

Feel free rail me on ACR if you want, my name is the same on there as it is here.

And here we go.....

Good luck mate, ACR is a tough site. You use a tracker or anything like that? Going to post hands in here? Have you tried ignition?

I went on a massive losing streak on ignition, so bad that I told them I had a gambling problem (which maybe I do) just so I couldn't deposit anymore. Big mistake. If you ever want to know if they will reinstate your account after that, they won't lol.

No tracker, no HUD, I just play. And actually yes, I'll try and post the big hand each night if possible. I've never done much of that so bare with me as I get better at it....

To me it sounds a little bit like you put yourself under too much pressure in aiming to double up in each session. Wish you good luck.

So day 3 is in the bag. After a little bit of a bad start (lost $12 over the first few hands I played) I reloaded what I had left in my account ($11 as you'll recall) and then chipped up to $57 before absolutely donking my way though the next hand. But, as I always say, I'll take luck of skill anyway....

So we are 5 handed at a $50PLO game. Both the UTG fold and I make the initial raise on the button with 10d Jc 4c 5s. In Omaha I play about 80-90% of starting bands, especially from late position, you just never know how it's gonna go, as this band will tell.

So I raise to $1.50, SB calls, BB 3 bets to $6 (ok, he's probably got a big pocket pair. Perfect for me to catch two pair on and he'll be none the wiser) the SB calls as well.

Flop comes 2s 3c 7h

It checks around (I still suspected the BB of holding Aces or Kings, possibly Queens. So I didn't want to give him a chance to check raise)

Turn is an 8h.

SB checks, BB pots or for $17.10 so if I call I still have $33 which is more than enough to chip back to, and if I can spike either an A, 6, or a 9 I'll be golden. Unfortunately the SB jams it all in for $34 total, and the BB calls. I'm feeling pretty pot committed at this point, but if I call and the river is a blank I'm back down to just $17 and would have to start my journey all over.

**** it, its to big or go home time. I call....

The river was, as Andrew Neeme would say, pretty favorable. Off suit Ace giving me the most beautiful wheel I've ever seen and the stone cold nuts.

Now here is the part of the band that surprised the helm out of me. BB checks, I jam, he tanks for a long time before finding a fold. The lot was $134, how could he not call for $10 more?

Yes, I know, that was a ridiculously stupid play on my part, I very much should have lost this hand for making such a stupid call after the turn. I know I can't kee making those sorts of calls in the future (not without a bankroll) but I've never been afraid to get my money in there, in fact I've often been more afraid to not, and miss an opportunity.

So I not only doubled up, but even made up for the reload. Started the day with $61, finished with $134. Not bad for a half an hour of work.

On to day 4......

Maybe so. But then again, a lot of people say your selling yourself short by stopping after you get the double up. For me, this is an experiment, and idea I've had since the pre Black Friday days of full tilt. We'll see how it goes. I don't plan on eating myself to if I can't got my daily goal, the big thing is stopping once I do double to if I do (as far too many times have I doubled or tripled up only to watched every nickel in front of me get bled away. This is literally my attempt to quit while I'm ahead)

Not sure if I'm reading correctly but if you are not eating until you double up for the day then you are definitely putting too much pressure on yourself, you should eat!

Having lofty goals is fine but there will be off days and by continuing to grind to reach the goal (especially if it's on your mind so much) while on tilt or running poorly you will go broke again. I think you need to be able to stop sooner if you see your play deteriorating due to fatigue or tilt. Either way, good luck attaining your goals!

Bahahaha. See this is what I get when I don't proofread. I meant to say "not beating myself up"

But you are very much right. And I'm with you. If things aren't going well I'm or going to hold myself to the double up goal. But when and if I do double up, I want to leave the table so I don't lose what I've just won.

Whats tougher stars or acr or similar?

Being American I haven't played Stars since before Black Friday. But the games seem a lot tougher than everything was in 2011.

One thing that makes ACR tough is the game selection isn't huge. If you want to multi table, you'd be on a waiting list for awhile, that's assuming you could even find 4 tables of the same game running. But all that being said I'm enjoying ACR very much.

Ahahahahahha I thought I may have been misreading something, glad to hear I was!!

Okay that's understandable and not a bad strategy.

One suggestion that you could try is to instead time your sessions, if you know when the fatigue hits you say after 4 hours then just stop at the end of the time. Cause it's generally advantageous to be a bigger stack at a table, so long as you keep playing your game instead of getting too loose cause of your big stack. Let me know if you try it! And good luck again!

Well as it turns out, 4 days is how long before I would go broke lol. Couldn't expect much as I wasn't practicing any sort of bankroll management. But it was fun none the less. Guess I'm going to have to reload and start again tomorrow. Until then I'm going to bed.....

Operation donkfest 2.0 starts tonight. Gonna reload a min deposit of $25 and hit the PLO tables again tonight. Unlike the beta version I'm not going to continue to move up the ranks each time I double up, but try and retain at least a few buy-in's before I jump up in stakes. Maybe say have 5 or so buy-in's for the next level before jumping up, then next level maybe have 10, and so on and so forth, gradually work my way up. I still fully expect to go bust eventually (maybe tonight who knows) but maybe if I just exercise a little discipline I can keep the trane going a little while.

I'll keep you guys posted.....

I would generally say that you should stick to Bankroll Management.
But if you feel that taking big shots like this and are having fun then who am I to stop you :)
But if you somehow manage to get up to a $1000, I would advise that you don't move up in stakes too quickly, so that you can stay afloat for longer.
Good luck!

So decided to go big and reloaded $100. That mixed with the few dollars I had left in my account, and a bonus I cashed in, along with my points I cashed in put me at $114. Currently sitting at $363, so not bad 2 days worth of poker. Bout to hit the tables again. Let's hope I don't do anything too stupid!!!

God I should twitch these sessions, just so you guys can see how crazy I am. Started the day at $363. At one point was down to $185 and had everything on the table spread out over 4 games of various levels. Finally went on a rush and found myself all in with $328 (everything I had) on a 2/4 table. Got it in good with two pair against TPTK and doubled up, then chipped up a bit over the rest of the orbit to finish the day at $718. Man I really should practice some discipline.... I know this can't last forever, and I damn sure don't need to be results oriented. I know variance is going to come back and kick me in the ass. Tomorrow I'm sticking to .50/1 and just gonna grind, no crazy stuff....

So my goal was to get to $1k today. Sat down on 2) $100nl tables, 1) $100PLO table, and 1) $200PLO table. After just 20 minutes of play I found myself close to $1200 total (counting what wasn't in play as well as what I had on the table) . Unfortunately I lost a pretty big pot when my set got cracked by a turned flush. Eh what can you do. Still finished the day at $1015. Not bad if I do say so myself, especially seeing as I just sat down at the computer 23 minutes ago. Easy game, as they say. Man I hope I can keep this going..... see you guys tomorrow.

I would totally watch you play these on twitch. Just make sure you have a delay (say 4-5 minutes). You don't want someone at the table watching and seeing your hand while it is still live.
