ps ive only just got back from a trip, so i won the $9 in 2 days (7 hours).....but i am under no illusion i can keep that up, as i can easily lose my $2 buy within 5 minutes by making stupid decisions, although i am improving daily

Realistically going by one table is not going to get you anywhere near a reasonable sample size fast enough for it to worthwhile. Assuming you want about 30k hands to back up a decent winrate to prove you are 'beating' a level, you ll need 500 table hours assuming 60 hands per hour. IMO adding at least to 4 tables is inevitable in the near future no matter what stake you decide to settle at..
So go ahead and add another table now, stick with it for several days. Get comfy then take 3 and so on. Now dont fall into the trap of playing too many tables, you need to actually play and not go autopilot and therefore stop learning...like I think I have these past 2 months playing 9 tables at 5nl. I'm on a 1bb/100 all in EV win rate over 90k hands which is kind of lolbad...planning to cut back to 6 tables next month, at least for a week anyway.

im assuming you need more buy ins if you play more tables....i thought 20bi's was enough for 2nl, 5nl and 10nl on 1 table......

how do you know how many hands you have played?....do you have to use holdem manager for that or can you access that information through the poker site?......yeah i will add another table and add more gradually as i get more comfortable......and yeah, i dont want to play poker on autopilot, that cant be much fun and you're also not learning either.....the game would get boring very quickly for me if i did it as a chore.....

if you are an advanced player 9 tables might be ok.....its the guys who play 16 tables who must be brain drained by the whole thing.....i will never do that no matter how profitable it obviously is...........then again i might do it if its near xmas or i want to go on a holiday lol....

If you follow Chris Fergun brm you should have at least 20 buy ins and no more then 10% of br on table. But your at the lowest buy in so you could probably play as many as you your comfyarable with

20Bi's is towards the bottom of the BRM scale but should be plenty for 2nl. The amount of tables have no impact on the number of BI's you need for any given level.

I think that if you can still play at roughly the same level of capability with another table for the most part then add it for sure. Poker is a long run game. The more hands that you can play, the faster you will get to your goal.

And ya, just follow a general bankroll rule like the above and you will be fine. Just remember to have the discipline to move down if things don't go your way at the new level at first. Rinse and repeat and you will get there eventually.
