I have playing poker online for about 2 years. For the last year or more I have been making money at it every week. I have had losing stakes here and there, but always made it back in a few days. The past two weeks however, I have been lucky to brake even. I dont think i am doing anything differant. Has this happened others? If so how do you work through it.

drop down in limits for a few days. re-assess your biggest losing hands and try to see if the -swing is also making you second guess yourself.

Stick to what you do best pedro, maybe even take a week off from the daily grind, its very likely that you are just going through a downswing or maybe even just getting a bit stale or complacent, it happens to the best of them. I say take some time away from it all and see if this recharges your batteries. Good luck.

Pedro, you need to take at least a couple days break. Sometimes I do that because sometimes the motivation or the mood is not there to play. You may be in a drone like state where you feel you have to keep up with your weekly playing routine, but that isn't the case especially when your not running good. I would say, don't move up or don't move down, especially if your bankroll is well suited for the level you are.

If you know you are playing good than pat yourself on the back, if your getting your money in with the best hands in good situations than you can't base your winnings on the outcome. You have to know that no matter the outcome you did what was right and you can't control what happens after that. Remember its a game of skill, but at the end of the day its still cards -- you can't control the outcome whether you get your money in with the best hands or not.

Take a break man, do some stuff that you don't normally do, get away from the computer and get out of the house. Just take your mind off of the game and get past the past results and give your chance a start to fresh again. If you've been playing at the same level for a long time you may have lost the motivation and the fun knowing that you are ready to move up to the next level but your still trying to pad your bankroll for that step.

If you've got the motivation to play than I say play more of what you don't normally do, if you play cash games all the time, play a few more tournaments, if you play strictly tournaments play a few more cash games. Me personally I like to switch to omaha, learning a game you don't play or playing a game you don't play often will bring back some fun to the game and help you put hold em back to perspective

For me moving down seems like i do worse because I don't seem to take it as seriously. When moving up I get nervous, excited and pay more attention to play and seem to do better. Either way mix it up a little, keep it fun and dont dwell..

Thanks guys i think taking time off will help. I normal play 10 hours a day
or more sometimes. I am getting board with it at times, but I still love
poker. I think I will give it a rest for a few days and slowly work back into it.
I will let you know how it gos.

Good man, i think this is your best option for the time being. While spending time away from the game you could think of the different ways you could change your game, and if when you get back in there and find that the rest didnt do the trick, you will at least be prepared for what you want to try out next. Tbh though, if you are winning every week you have a winning formula and hopefully this is just a downswing and time away from it will do the trick. Good luck.

I change poker sites for a while when I start losing seem to work. Also I just change the game to. And when all else fails Take a feww days off.

Right now my game is off because I can't move money around like I could with neteller and that was a lot of the game. Plus all the sites I really liked I am unable to play there anymore.

Anyone can get burned out, even on the things they enjoy most. 10 hours a day is a bit much (although I am often guilty of such things). Take a break.

It's just variance. That's what your bankroll is for. Play your game and you'll be fine. Don't be afraid to lose, and you'll win.
