In my case in PS FR cash game

1.filter the tables that I want
2.index for average pot and stack size> = 40% BI
3. I select the tables occupied with the highest average pot and zero people in the queue
And I get in the queue of 3 or 4 tables
4. I select one or two tables with only one vacant seat of larger average pot
5. I play while waiting to be called at the tables as I stand in the waiting line.

I'm looking for tables with a vpip greater than 40% and that they play more than 60 hands per hour

% of flops seen often tells you a picture. the higher the more action the table has, given that the players who call or seen the flops a lot havn't quit the table.

Also while playing put notes on everyone and label people a colour. That way you can see if there are multiple fish at a table without going into many figures. Easier to identify and faster means the more gameplay.

Step 1. Use the "Easy Seat" option
Step 2. Use "Sit out next big blind and close"
Step 3. Colour code players
Step 4. Use easy seat, sit out next bb on any table that doesn't have your desired ratio of good:bad players, identified by your colour coding system.

Find the table with the most concentration of players playing a VPIP of 40% plus. Those games basically become your personal ATM machines...sure you want to make sure it's a format that you're comfortable with, but if you sit down with fish in any sort of poker game, you're going to make money off of them haha I'll even take shots at higher limits if I have notes on certain players that they're fishy and they've gone to a higher limit and sat down...becomes quite a profitable strategy :D

I mean, how much higher? I'd say this isn't a good practice for BR management (if we're getting as technical as OP is about it) in the long term as variance and just hand strength can crush you short term.

Only a stake or so above what I'm rolled for. It's honestly great for your bankroll if you know when/where to take these shots and have a solid strategy for playing poker. Of course, I wouldn't suggest for buying in for half your roll at 3 stakes above what you'd normally play just because there is a fish in it. That would be ludicrous. I'm saying that if you see a fish that's playing at a stake or so above what you're rolled for, take what you're willing to lose from your BR to take a shot at stacking this fish for a large percentage of bankroll inceasement. Sure you might be on the negative side of variance and get cooler, but if you're smart about your stake jumping this can be incredibly profitable.

Example of what I mean: I was properly rolled for 5NL at the time, I had about $134 in my account or about 27BI for 5NL. I always have taken an aggressive stance to bankroll management at the lower stakes since I play better than most at those stakes (27BB/100 over about 30k hands over the summer playing a mix of 2NL/5NL). I know that's not a huge sample size, but I was crushing the games and not just because I was running hot.

So, I saw a fish at one of the 10NL tables who I knew was a total spewtard and would call down with third pair and gutshots and stuff like that. He played upwards of 65% VPIP and was a prime candidate to increase my bankroll quickly. I go in with the intention of spending $20 or 2BI at 10NL, and if I went busto with those I'd go back down to 5NL and stay there until I was properly rolled again. I ended up winning in the game for about $30+ dollars over a couple of hours, mostly thanks to the fish. While this won't always be the case, it would be too nitty to pass up on an opportunity like this. Again, you have to be confident in your play and be smart about how you take shots...don't try to make up for losses or anything like that. But taking smart shots even when you're not properly rolled is a skill a lot of players should work on, especially at lower stakes where they will still have a skill edge over the majority of players at one stake higher than they're rolled for.

you should colored code the regulars i.e with red and the fishes with green the lags and the nits with the color you prefer and then sit at a table with at least 2 green player and besites of that you should also consider to sit select, go for the "jesus" seat the fishes on your right so you have position on the them and make your life easier, isolate them and value bet them to the death, and also prefer to have the tags and the nits on your left to be able to steal the blinds from them.

I just look for any table where there is someone I already tagged as a fish. After this, I look for any table that has a player sitting with < 100BB (Mostly fidh fo that) and try to get the immediate left of them (to always have position on them).

Try to get into tables with high vpip and %of seen flops. Also if you have a HUD it will be very useful to tag fish and good regular players
