HOW DO U FIX THIS LEAK?? My stats are 18/14/3 at nl5 6max
I have been playing for real moneys since 2009 tourneys, 2 years cash

Have u ever 3bet/4bet shove even u know u should fold but know ur opponent opens with vpip 14/14 and u hope there's trash in his range just to get stacked??
I KEEP ON bluffing PRE,POST FLOP GUESSING WHEN THEY HAVE IT.I CANT HELP MYSELF LOOSING BUY-INS AFTER BUY-INS.
GOING ALL IN TOP PAIR OR 2 PAIR VS PASSIVE PLAYERS RE-RAISING ME AND I KNOW I SHOULD FOLD BUT NO!!!:shot:
I cant get my discipline to fold.I am so pissed off at myself but i have been running bad too and know i should play better and fold but im so sick of poker at this moment. The last 10 times i had sets i lost 7 and lost big pots and won 3 little ones.Cant fold my aa to vs passive players post flop vs re-raise.I do play in pos. with stats of 18/14/3 at nl5 6max

I am going to take a break even though i just came from 2 weeks in jan 2014 but is that why i have no discipline??
I know i should pot control but if u check and they go all in how can u pot control then???guess u fold

You're on tilt right now. Best to take a break . About the leak. There's no simple answer to that. Discipline can only be self taught. I can tell you to fold or how to play etc, but ultimately it comes down to you making that decision when to do it. My advise would be to take it slow. From what I read ," 2 years of playing and you know when the opponent have the nuts but you can't bring yourself to fold". This shows you have experience and somewhat good at reading your opponent. next time you're at this position, stop, think, and tell yourself that this is the best decision to make right now and it's your next step at being successful at the game. Good luck

I dunno if this will help you, but here is something I found useful.

When it gets like this, I will only play a single table. I will have the equity calculator from PT4 open, and when I am in a hand, I will take my time, and put the stats into the equity calculator. If you click on "sel" you can select ranges for the other players.

From that I will get a pretty good estimate of my %age to win at each stage. I can calculate the pot odds and compare to the odds to win and make a judgement call to fold.

It has helped me to build fold discipline.

I am playing much calmer now, and more patient. I am better at folding bad and marginal hands, and this method also helps me work out when I am ahead and by how much, and therefore my bet sizing is also improving. When I play two or three tables, I can't use this but my insight is getting better.

Hope you find it useful.

Just fold for 2 hrs non stop no matter what you have :) sure your burning money but it'll still be cheaper.

Then increase your opening to QQ KK AA AK... fold everything else... til you start winning more and then open some more after that.

Slowly slowly no point opening your range if your just going to lose more money true?

I like this idea :)

Usually I do the opposite and go all in every hand until the roll is gone....it feels so good at the time, then horrific 10 mins later when its all gone.

Not done that for awhile though, getting better in the mental side..

Op...read the book 'zen and the art of poker' ...very good book about the mental side of poker and life in general.

You could try creating a meaningful negative reinforcement for yourself. Part of the problem may be that, assuming you're playing within your BR, even getting stacked isn't a particularly significant consequence since it's easily affordable.

So set a consequence that will matter. Maybe put a jar by your computer. The first time you let this leak happen, put in 2 buyins, then increase the amount by 2 BI for each subsequent time - so 4 BI fo the second time, 6 BI for the third, etc. Eventually, the amount will be meaningful enough so you'll stop. At that point, donate the money to charity.

Or maybe penalize yourself in a non-monetary way; e.g. for the first time, suspend yourself (meaning you can't play) for two days, then, as above, increase the duration for each subsequent time.

Not much trash in a vpip 14% opening range...I wouldn't 3 bet a player with those stats unless its for value or he was folding at least 70% to 3 bets.
You identify yourself you are bluffing too much...if you know this then don't do it..simple as.... If you read what is said by top players most only bluff just enough to keep opponents off balance most of they play is about extracting value from good hands.. Go and have a read about what Mike Caro says about bluffing on his website you might be suprised.
