I have some questions about donk bets. Couple of comments before hand: they annoy the hell out of me. It seems like anytime an idiot does this to me it puts me on tilt and usually i'll immediately reraise hard if i paired the board in someway or have a draw which isnt good(only raising because of me being on tilt that is). So for my questions:

What do donk bets tell me? I know most likely from a new player it means that they hit the board with probably top or mid pair and that from an experienced player it most likely means that they're just looking for information.

So how to i fight against this stupid little bet? If i'm in position with Ax, kq/j/10, any pairs and any suited connector and the flop doesn't hit me what do i do? On a wet board? On a dry board? against a novice? against a better player?

Sorry if this question is vague but i just really need help on deciphering these kind of bets

it really depends on the person ur up against, reads and stats are necessary to decipher what the best play is. if u post a hand history where someone donk bet into you, we may be able to help you more

It's kind of interesting how a pro will bet to get information but a donk hits if he paired up. Hmmm so how do you even know which one is betting against us ( a pro or a donk).. and then the donk gets lucky, hits a set on his paired 3s, and takes us out of the game. I pro, we would say "nice read" a donk we just have fun slammin his ignorance.

What we are trying to decide at this stage is whether what you would call a donk bet is actually what we would call a donk bet - which is why a specific example would be useful... ;)

I see weak player make this move a lot. They usually do some minimum bet when the pot vastly bigger. I tend to throw a good size raise at them to see where they stand. At the same time if you just call the weak donk bet, your opponent thinks you are weak.

If they 3x donk bet I take it a little more serious. Sometimes I call and see what they do on the turn. In your case he belt less on the turn possibily meaning he was weak. You could possibily try a 3x raise there and attempt to steal the pot.

Definition of a donkey:
-Calls every hand up to 5 or even 10x the bb.
-Goes all in with any Ace rag.
-Only bet they know is 2-3 times the pot if they have something.
-Will chase any flush or straight draw to the river.
-They have big mouths and smell bad.
-Will kick you over and over in the head if you're not careful.

Now your question...what do donkey bets tell you? Well, think back to a time when you were new to playing. What did you bet out with? If it's pre-flop, they likely have an Ace-(insert random card here). If the flop comes and they bet, look at all the possible draws. From my experience, donkies will bet out on any draw or pair.

My tip...don't even play with them. Adjusting your style of play to their style will really screw a Poker player's game and give them massive headaches from constant bad beats.

not sure what to do here if you don't have a hand. but i know it drives me crazy to. sometimes i reraise, and they call. then on the turn, they donk lead agian. at that point you know they are not folding. so i will just give up at that point.

this and min raises drive me crazy.
