Okay, so I have recently been playing on ACR and I am trying to develop a sound strategy for building a large bankroll without risking much money. I recently made the minimum deposit of $25. and decided to play at the lowest stakes available. ($0.01/$0.02) With this strategy of playing micro stakes only I managed to build my bankroll to $40 very quickly. This seemed to be working well. However, one night I decided to put all $40 on the line and went all in with 97o. Stupid right? anyway I am going to make another deposit and remain disciplined this time. I wonder though, in these micro stakes games, do you all find that a bluff heavy approach works well? Or do you prefer a conservative approach? I am also curious what sort of gains you have made and in what stakes? What approach did you use? Feel free to brag!:jd4:

I wouldn't risk bluffing when playing cash games most the time they play tight and aggressive so try not to bluff and playing out of position

Hi. In my experience in general in the really low stakes games a tighter value bet heavy strategy seems to do better than a bluff heavy strategy.

Good Luck!!

Pushing all-in with 97os?
You better tighten up a considerable amount. :)
As it has already been said, aggression doesn't work well in micro-stakes.
If you still have issues with discipline, then may I suggest multi-tabling to cut out some of the boredom experienced when waiting for the better hands.

there is such a way to stop playing on garbage hands wait for two aces and play and as if you have 7 2 and you will understand a lot in bluff
when building a bankroll, do not look for complex solutions

Sometimes you will play bad if you feel tired playing poker for a long time. Thinking of taking a break, reviewing your game, setting up some goals for next season. And the important thing is discipline.

If you want build bankroll and raise on limits bluff doesn't help in this case, I guess. I think at the micro-limits the game should be tight. And I agree with Smookwood about nl25. I like nl25 more than nl2-10.

DONT WORRY ABOUT LIMPING, LIMPING IN IS THE WAY TO GET COOLER HAND SUCCESS.

you cannot rinse someone dry of all their chips if you dont have the mindblowing pocket hand they'd never be able to put you on. Fear nothing, be loose as you please but only so loose that it is overall profiting you!

I would not go all in with 9 7 offsuit even with play money. What were you thinking ? After reading comments in some other threads I am becoming more cautious about going all in with AA or KK for heavens sake

Save up $500, deposit it and jump straight to 25NL

Care to explain why jumping straight to that level could help? Why is this a good idea? From what I've read, grinding and gradually raising the blinds is the way to go.

Thank you.

Absolutely correct. Smokewood has very bad BRM advice. He should work on BRM.

Get a job then, 9-5. Keep making min buys and you'll go broke long term. You need at least 3000 BB's if you want to have a healthy bankroll and move up. So at .1/.2 that's 60 bucks.

FYI you're playing online on ACR....good luck lol. Full of regs and nits.

Because anything lower than 25NL is a waste of your time, you'd be better off working at McDonald's and saving up $500....

I was questioning this as well, whether its more profitable to make the min buy in or buy in at the max, I don't feel bad about loosing $0.80 if I'm playing bad. But I always feared the guy with the massive stack. Just didn't wanna lose $60.00 on a micro-stakes game. I'll have to try making the max buy in and see if that helps.

From playing these microstakes online cash games, the best strategy is to RARELY bluff. You are going to get called with Q high anytime, so its just better to valuebet a lot. Ofc, mixing in some balanced bluffs in PROFITABLE situations is essential if you want to become better. I have managed to grind 18 dollars from 2 dollars BeastOfCro sent me and then I busted it out like you, but in my case i actually pushed KK against J10 suited and what happened is just a bad beat story :)

what is a nit?

A nit is a total tight player. Basically a player with opening range somewhere around QQ+, some AJ suited and above.

PS: My personal suggestion is to start playing live. You are going to find a lot softer fields and thats where the real money lies. On the live tables. You will enjoy the grind more and general feeling of the game (at least for me!) is 100x better live than clicking some buttons.

GL and have discipline lad!!
