the magic word is Volume. you should put more volume in your game and the fastest and easiest way to do it is to play zoom poker 4 tables at your current level...20-25 buy-ins i think its pretty safe if you are down to 15 buy-ins in your current level you should drop a level and start building again until you have again at least 20 buy-ins

Unfortunately, unless you want to take big risks, there is no quick way of getting to 25nl when you're starting with $85, you're going to have to gradually work your way up the levels. Always buy in for 100bbs. I can give you my recommendation for BRM if you want?

That "quick way" you want is always good for a fast going up or... even faster going down :D

So, first of all, apply some rules to yourself about BR management and stick with them. It takes discipline to achieve something like that ;)

And... best of luck.

The easiest way I've found is make sure you play in games where you aren't as bad as the opposition. This way you win money and build your BR.

As micro says there is no quick way without taking risks I starting building my roll from $85.05 in May and am now sitting on $235 at 5nl and will take shots at 10nl at $250. I have only started putting in volume over the last few months so I'm sure you can get up there quicker than me if you are good enough but it will still take time.

They don't call it a grind for nothing.

Patience, Volume, Thousands of hands. Lots of time. And again patience. It takes a while to build a nice bankroll.

Slowly.

It is impossible to do it quickly without high risk.

Grind it out. Build the BR slowly, through patience and good decisions.

That is the key to playing winning poker over the long term.

If you want to risk half your roll to build it up fast, you are going to go broke ALOT.

That is all.

There is no quick way. There is not magic play. There are no magic words. The better the winrate the quicker.
With 85$ you should play 2NL until you reach 100$. Give it a try at 5NL . If you drop down 7-8 BIs go back to 2 NL and start it over. If you are a winning player and you go up it depends on your winning rate on how fast you will reach 10NL. Suppose you want to take that shot at 300$ BR. you need to make 200$ at 5NL. This means 40Buy-ins. At a winning rate of 5BB/100 you need to play at least 80K hands at 5 NL . Now you know how many hands you can play per day. If you play 1Khands/day you need 80 days. If you play 500 hands per day you need half of year.
Problem is that you will know for sure what your winrate is after 100k hands. If it is smaller you will need more time.
Now. You know how many tables you can play at the same time and how much you can keep your A game. Increasing the number of tables does not guarantee a faster way to increase your bankroll. Your winning rate could drop dramatically because your game will suffer. Of course there is the rakeback(different types for different sites). But at 5 NL the amount is very small .

Ps. If you try to hurry it up like forcing hands, you will loose. The goal should not be the BR but your game. If you increase your skill the goal will be reached faster.

Quick questions:

Do you guys think it'll be better playing SNG or cash? I play on Bovada and usually play the 3$ Triple Ups and the .02/.05 cash.

Thanks.

That all depends on what game you are best at. Personally, I prefer cash and the odd MTT. I sometimes play the 50/50s but am slowing down with those.

It is very hard to make a decent ROI on STTs now as the quality of play is much better than it was five - ten years ago.

You will know what game suits you the best. That is the one to play.

I am a cash player. SNGs and MTTs are just too high in variance for me. And they are such a waste of time to me.

That is just me though.
