ive just been looking on pokertableratings and noticed one person i play with often has a BB/100 of over 5 and this is over like 500k hands and my pokertracker stats over about 1k hands with him say hes playing a 43/5 game and this is full ring.. i didnt know it would be possible to beat the game so well playing this loose, so i was just wondering if anyone else chooses to play loose? as all we hear is the TAG approach.. does this guy just have great post flop skills or something?

43/5 means he's limping every 3rd hand and raising only with his best cards. You can only get away with that if you play at tables full of loose passives and calling stations.

Sounds like 5nl.

come on, you and I might get there someday...:)
You're going to need like a $40k bankroll to play there if you want to play there with as many buy-ins as you do on 2NL ;) Move up already, you're going to be able to beat 5NL, even 10NL too. No difference imo

Post Flop

I think this 43 and 5 player has good post flop skills. He is playing loose for the small money but then probably tightens up for when the big bets come down. I believe his results are not a mirage. I am thinking he is a good player and is doing a good job in creating a loose image but might not be as loose as people think when the flop hits. He could possibly be using this loose image to get paid off when he does make a big hand...LizaBuv

I am a 26 and 15 which seems to work for me at these stakes.

Yeah everyone got a bit excited and silly at the idea of 200 dollars on a single table, this was always about 5NL and i was just thinking how everyone drills into us about being a perfect 12/10 or whatever and theres this guy who's fairly crushing this level with his stats. I agree LizaBuv he clearly knows what he's doing but i still think tighter is the easier style to play, he must just have some really good post flop skills

Playing 5nl by choice then for 500K hands? Fact is good players move up.

I don't think you're going to find a live game at a casino with stakes lower that $1/$2 unless you're playing on the electronic tables. Just not enough money in it for the casinos.
