Ok, here's the skinny. I've been invited to a home game for the last several weeks now. I enjoy playing with these people but it has become very frustrating. I bluff, I'm called. I raise big pre flop, I'm called. I push the flop with the nuts, and get beat by the river. I push allin pre flop, hand doesn't hold. Is there anything I can be doing to consistently beat these people? There have been nights where I've played a total of 6 hands in a two and a half hour period, to bust out. The only real strategy these people have is to call. I am usually the only one raising. When they raise I know to get out. When they call big bets I usually slow down. When I hit the nuts and it holds I massage the pot and get every last chip I can. I watch, study, and analyze. All the while my opponents are playing wtf poker. Is there anything else I should be doing? I enjoy winning and do it quite consistently at other venues. Why can't I beat these people?

Here's my advice....GET OUT! Sounds to me like they have teams to get your money. They probably spilt your money after the game is over.

There is a lot of table talk and things like "should I call " being said. You mightbe right.

I found myself in this same scenario about a year ago. My advice is to play your A game and in the end you will come out a winner. Play more post-flop. Unless you have a pre-flop monster, see the flops with your solid hands and play your opponents this way. There's nothing worse than having to play multiple opponents, especially OOP when you miss your hand and have already begun building the pot.

I have a similar home game situation. I am the only one of us who consistently plays online and live in casinos, and they have this attitude that it would be fun to bust me.

They're calling raises, pre-flop, flop and post flop no matter what I do, so I'm REAL TIGHT, I don't play a lot of hands and unless I have A/A or K/K I don't raise, in fact I'll often just go all-in with them pre-flop cause I know I'll get the call.

As suggested earlier I do a lot of in position post flop play against this kind of attitude and tighten up my standards. Two pair isn't good enough, I look for straights and sets and bet for value, to punish them for their disrespect.

Out of 10 times playing against this kind of attitude I've gone home even twice, and ahead 7 times and behind once.

You have to beat them with patience and knowledge.

Good luck :D
