Hi guys. Just wanna get thoughts on this incident. Was playing 2/5 at a home game (raked so i guess u could call it underground since they're considered illegal in Singapore). Built my stack up to about 1.2k when this happened.

There was a double straddle on so effectively 2/5/10/20. MP raised to 80, i held AdAh on cutoff. Reraised to 210 to iso, rapid folds to MP who thought a while and flatted. He had about 1.1k to start the hand.

Flop: 6s, 10c, Js
He checked, I bet 370 and he shoved for 890 total. 520 more for me to call with a pot that big, couldn't find any folds here with these odds, so i called and asked 'u got a big hand, u got a set?'.

To which he replied, 'yeah i got a set o 10s. how many times u wanna run it?' I looked disgusted as i replied, 'nice hand. i've got aces. twice is good i guess'.

Turn and river came 3d 3h. And on the 2nd run, turn/river came 4s Kd. After which he flipped up A10 of spades to claim half the pot. I was like 'what the **** man... u said u had 10s.'

Villian: yeah well i lied. that's poker boy.

I was fuming at the absolute lack of etiquette. I mean i've never seen this before... thoughts of tony g doing it to phil flashed through my mind but then again that was before phil called, to entice him to call. This was after all the money's gone in. Has anyone had a related incident? And did I deserve this for believing in there being etiquette in such a setting?

I don't know why it matters what his hand is, but it shouldn't really make a difference. You can simply demand to see his hand before doing business to prevent lying.

super bad idea to run it twice imo, regardless of whether he had TT or ATs

Both the above answers together, horrible etiquette though. I'd click my fingers and send the boys over to him if I were you.

I don't know, i think the number of times to run it usually depends from person to person, there's no right or wrong answer. Personally I run it once if I see that I'm 2:1 or more favourite, but if im a huge dog, the more the merrier so I dont get shut out totally from the pot.

That aside, I was more befuddled by his actions. Maybe I should f these home games and go for broke at 5/10 in the casino as that's the smallest game legally running here.

The casinos in Singapore offer nlhe in their casinos? Last I check they do not offer any? Or did I check wrong? Really interested in trying live games some times

Yes they do. Check out Resorts World Sentosa, they have a small poker room. Be warned there are some sharks circling there though.

Noob to live games here: Why do people care how many times it's run? It doesn't affect your EV and reduces volatility. Is it raked multiple times or something?
