I started playing cards, like most people, in house cash games. You know, $20-$100 buy-ins? I used to rake in profit very consistently, but as I learned more about the game I seemed to send my profits down hill. What is a consistent strategy for these types of games. I am in college but when I go home for breaks I usually end up playing. It would be nice to be able to make a few extra bucks for the weekends back at school. lol

Welcome to cards chat. I'll try my best to explain why you are loosing more after learning the game. When you just started playing you become the unpredictable unexpected one at the tables and it's the reason why you were winning more. After learning more about poker you begin to think like a pro and start playing like a pro , only difference is theres ppl thats better than you at the tables. At first you will loose but if you are applying what you read/learn to your games you will eventually get better. You have to think you are in this for the long run.... For now you can mix up your old winning strategy and your new one and see how it goes. Good luck at the tables .

Forgot to mention , invest some time in studying/learning bank roll management ., this will actually be the only thing that matters in the future. A proper bank roll management comes from having patience and being descipline, both can be aquire though training and experience. Good luck again.
