Hi everyone, it's been long time since I posted here last time, and now i am back to poker and are willing to contribute to forum.

But here is my question.

I started to play in a small home cash game with friends, with 5p-10p blinds £10 max buy in. It's usually 5-6 handed and everyone is very loose preflop... If I open raise 3 bb, everyone calls and on the flop and later streets I end up folding my good preflop hands if unimproved and even when i hit TPTK or overpair they are not good anymore in a multiway pot. The same goes if i raise 6bb preflop. since it's "only" 60 p to see the flop everyone calls. However, if i raise more than 6bb with good to premium hands like ATs+, AJo+, 99+ KJ+ I normally just pick up the blinds or get called by better hands. This game is crazy i don't how to approach it. On the other hand if i tighten up much more to play only premiums i don't get any action. I am not a good postflop reader at the moment so i just play TAG.. What do you do in my situation preflop and postlop?
THANK YOU !

This is the problem of many home games, when the players play for fun. I used to play in home games, which were basically very similar. At first I was frustrated because of the style of play, but then I started to treat those games more like social / fun event then poker event, even though it still was poker. I think you should do the same, because being tight and value betting more is the only advice I think, but then you will be bored to death playing like that ;).

For these types of games I play loose pre- and post flop, and then tighten up on 4th street depending on reads and action. Like Sarniak said, this is more of a social event then a money maker. Just try and relax and have fun and loosen up a bit. If you play your normal tight style you will not have fun in these situations. If you strictly are there to make money, then you need to pick a different venue.
Good luck.

thanks, for the replies. Although it is with friends everyone want to make money on the end of the day because making money is fun ! Anyway, do you think I should make 7x or above with my monsters especially from early positions in order to reduce the field to 1 or 2 opponents and risk being up against better hands. Or Should i bet 5 or 6 x and play the hand against 5 other people with any two cards ? (the first scenario , I normaly pick up the blinds, the second scenario i am outdrawn by some garbage hands ). WHAT is the most profitable move?

Eventually your stronger hands will hold and itll become profitable. Punish the flush and straight draws. It will get there from time to time but even if they keep chasing evtually youll be +

Just thinking aloud: You should open with premiums the amount you get one caller, practically one to two callers. Not all hands you listed are premiums in multiway pot. So there is no reason to be agressive with the lesser part. Mostly you just want to see flops cheaply and then fire away untill people around you adabt about 10 sessions later ;)

+1 to this

But for this to work you have to get more comfortable postflop. Punish all the draws and second best hands they could have with stuff like TPTK+, depending on the board and situation ofc.
Also does it usually go to showdown in this game you play in? Because then you can pick up some information from carefully watching how certain players play flush/straight draws/ nut hands etc.

But if you are with friends your main goal should still be to have fun, and the money will become less relevant :)

also pot control, dont have to always bet 100% of the time when you have tptk, as from time to time draws will get there + they could have sets etc

Open to 5bb with your good hands and also call with more hands if they play loose and you had some knowledgeof the game they will win small pots but when you got the nuts you will know how to make a big pot
