Hi all,

Wondering if some of you can help me with this; I'm using PT4 and wondering why my Hit Flop Ratio/Percentage is so low after approx 40,000 hands. I feel I haven't been getting the best of luck and have been card dead over this period, but was looking for stats to verify (how do you know when you are on a downswing anyway)?

My unpaired hole card hit-flop-ratio is 5.1 after 35,000 hands. So I'm hitting the flop 19.47% of the time. This is supposed to be ~32%. My PT4 report includes flopping flushes and straights in this statistic.

So over 35,000, I've seen the flop 5301 times and hit the flop 1032 times. Is it normal for this stat to run bad like this for so long? Also, it does not vary much per day; Its always around 20%. Anybody have any insight?

This could easily be probability: 5301 hands sounds like a lot, but it is not a significant sample. You can mitigate it by limiting your speculative hands to when you will have position and or multi-way pots.

GWU73 it's been pretty steady at 20% for 40000; It just strikes me as odd that there is no variance per day (like 1-2%). Still, they say the long run is 100,000 hands so I'll wait for that before being concerned.

Re the position, are you talking about mitigating the effects of hitting nothing as I don't see how playing less hands OOP will affect my hit flop ratio?
