There have been several times today where I riase a good amout with hands like JAs hit the flop for top pair and top kicker rainbow flop and no straight draws that I can see and get it all in on the flop to be beaten by a pp set

depending what your playing cash, mtt or turbo,
try and get a feel for your opponents, and get into the habit of going down streets.
betting patterns, board textures, calling range/and villains position from call/raise

The thing is if your getting it in with Ace jack suited your only getting called by very strong hands and losing value when good.
if your opponent has the set by controlling the pot you cut losses when good, and get your value / bluff catchers etc

also sets are pretty rare 7/8to 1 and pocket pairs are longer odds, so you should be optimistic that this isn't going to become a -EV occurance

the only problem of raising all in preflop, is that it doesn't become profitable anymore, I mean which hands that are worse than yours will call that bet? the answer is none, unless you are playing a donk, so in that way you will win the small pot most of the times, but loose all your stack when your opponents hit, and that's not profitable

I mean this may just be coolers. However for new players I have found this pretty cool poker school. You also get the chance to win over $100 in free bankrolls whilst your at it!

Hope that helps.

You are just having a streak of bad luck. Most of the time, you are the favorite to win such hands and make alot of money. Keep grinding and you shall profit.

You are playing deep, if you can't have pot control against a decent players, I wouldn't go all in with just top pair. It happens a lot. If you see that the player is a donk I would, but remember you are playing deep, hands like AQ become less worthy when you play deep, and hands like pp or suited connectors can be played more easily. You should either change the way you play hand like AQ or AJ or play middlestack strategy. Remember that when the more chips you have, the less valuable become high cards.
