Hello, after mostly being an online player over the years (6max .25/.50 highest i ever got) I've recently been trying a lot of live 1/2. I realized the differences immediately and have been trying to adjust but it has been difficult. So far I've read that playing TAG is the most profitable, but have come into many situations I can't avoid stacking off post flop and have started on a 4-5 BI downswing. My biggest issue with this game is that I feel like I am sitting around hoping to get lucky (rather than playing poker) and not even making money when I hit.

Yesterday I tried playing a bit more LAG, isoing limpers in late position lighter, 3-betting lighter however raising 6-7x in this game accomplishes nothing. Routinely get 3-4 callers with trash that hits. Iso raises and c-bets get expensive real quick.

I really need some advice from anyone playing in a similar game that has had success over the long time. Thanks

Well 50nl is most certainly tougher than 1-2 live. Live players tend to be more cally in general, that doesn't mean bluffing is impossible, but unless you see a good spot, I would avoid just splashing around. If your going to play a lag style your going to be a lot more vulnerable to short term variance, especially live. If you really feel like it is a struggle, post some of the more complicated hands you have been in with and see where you get suggestions. Overall this question is incredibly vague and hard to give you a fully accurate assessment on what to change.

Patience is key. TAG is the way to go while getting a feel for a table that you are not familiar with the players.

Biggest difference between online and live for me is the hands played per hour. And, HEM doesn't work as well! :D

Cbetting is a lot less a part of my game in these 1/2 donkathons.

You are usually firing into a wider group of players with wider ranges so it is less profitable and harder to figure out which flop textures to do it on.

Then again....if classic Cbetting textures are out there (say, K23 ranbow) you usually don't need to bet much to make hands like 66 fold.
