I definitely loosen up a lot and go on the attack. A lot of it is reads and a roll of the dice in my opinion.

I love HU SNG's as a way to reduce variance for tourneys.

My strategy is:

1- raise 2x on SB everytime (within reason - u may want to just call with 72o), call or raise on BB to a call (raise depends on strenght of hand), raise on BB if oppt calls everytime (aggressive play is key vs unaggressive oppts), fold to a small raise unless have something that has some potential then call
2- Hope to use 1 to build up a small chip lead
3- Pray to your god when the inevitable coin flip occurs- win coin flip then shut computer off and go "whew" did I just get lucky:rolleyes:

Calling your opponents all in: any A, K with 9+, Q with T+, any pocket pair

My heads up % in Full Tilt is about 58% so I make a little bit of $ so stop by and play me when you are milling around. My screen name is checkoutKQ

I always raise the player, and see how he reacts. Depending on that I will play agressive or conservative the rest of the game. There is no exact way to play, just go with your instincts!

I like to vary my raises from 2x to 4.5x the BB just to see how opp. reacts to various forms of pressure in the various situations.
eg. re-raise from BB if SB limps. Raise from SB. Find out opp's comfort zone for calling your raises. Then show down a few hands. Then tailor your raises to get him to fold when you want (small pair or junk), and invest in the pot when you want (big pair or big draw). Then, after he figures you out, change gears FAST. If you can manage to show down a few hands where he totally read you wrong you stand a good chance of making him tilt and start pushing with anything.

This strategy works against most opp.s who will take risks with marginal hands but follow a straight-forward strategy. It doesn't work so well if they play super-tight or super-loose. Against these two types, just play the opposite of their style for the small pots, but have a solid hand for the big pots.

I like to feel out my opponent. I will always be aggressive when in position. However, I like to give alot of respect in heads up play without all the cards out. I can't stand making the right play and having my opponent hit their card.

Ohhhh baby heads up my specialty. Heads up is based on YOUR style. some people turn up the aggression and some people take advantage of the other persons aggressiveness. its really just dpending on how you want to go about it from my experience usually the more aggressive player is able to take control of the match but it depends on your style!

You always need to make sure that if you are dealt ace always bet strong with it preflop even if it requires a 3x re raise. I would always go all in with pocket 8s or better. Just play agressive and you will win 9/10

Heads up I don't even think its the cards anymore. If you got them it certainly makes it easier. I would say alot is the situtation, playing position and being agressive. Many seem to play larger bets pre flop, with less aggressive play post. I think it has more to do with the position preflop and keeping your opponent off his stride.

Sometimes it doesn't work but I don't think I could win waiting for the big hand. You may just get blinded out.

I play conservattive and wait till i have a good hand. It works i would say 66 percent. Just play what suits you most. And good luck

Can someone please explain how the hell you play conservative h/u, or play position for that matter. If you want to get your post count up, pick a better topic and explain it way better than the crap in this thread. Any paint, raise, chances are your opponent doesn't have it. Cbet the flop and if you get a call chances are he has a good draw or has connected, so check the turn even if you hit to control the betting. If you have any pair check raise if opp bets, again if you get a call, he has def hit so if you haven't or have no draw, fold.

always always raise on the button-if you get reraised fold it-u need to be consistent and stay aggresive-do not allow the other player to run over you-when u have position u have to apply preassure and dont let up-eventually you will break youre opponent-but if you run into someone who has too much of a edge-make a note of it and never lay them again-the_urge27

My best advice is to play tight and decent ace, 2 big cards, or any pair n push with it....
