So I've decided I want to move my focus to heads up play. I started as a live full ring limit player, then when I found online NL, then 6max, I liked it better and better, but heads up is what I'm talking about.

I like the action, and the fact that raising 68o is now considered fine, lol. Anyway, just wondering who on here is into the HU scene? What stakes and all that jazz.

Hey, i used to play Heads-up matches all the time. But it was usually around 2$ or 5$ buy-in because I've earned all my money from freerolls. I worked from 0 to 40$ once until i busted because i was too ambitious. But i'm back with a few dollars again, trying to make it back into the scene.

(your quote) I Also found that part of the Heads-up tournament so hilarious.

Ise-a wit-ya inda HU world. i be luvin da action too. i begins slow an feel my foe out stayin honest fore a while den bit by bit i stole a bit cheer and a bit dar. ju-no he is stolen from u too but just let em have those chips and dont try to get'em back when ju-got nutin in your hand but rags dontcha make a bad situation worse by chasin your cards down to da ribber. let it go. gib an inch den take 1.5 inches becomin a rhythm and a dance between ju anda yo foe. over-aggressiveness will getcha into hot wawa too man-boy. keep raises small or risk strengthening yo opponent. when his stack gets small he will tryta go all in often so unless you have a killer mid-top pair or AK AQ AJ A-10 KQ KJ QJ dont raise and provoke. you already chopped off his legs now getting impatient and rasin lots he he got small stack is sure fire way to let him back in the game.

There are 50NL tables and up for heads up on FT. Big range of opponents there, but fun to play. The action is quick, and the swings can be huge.

Some people I was talking with were saying the rake on 50nl makes it bad enough that you should just get rolled for 100 and start there. Any thoughts on that?

I'm just starting to get into playing more HU...it seems like a great way to improve your game in a hurry. I like being able to focus solely on one player to pick up what they're doing and making adjustments on the fly

Yeah, that's what I like about it too. Your job is just to figure out what this guy is doing, and then make the correct adjustments to counter whatever strategy he's employing. Definitely a good time. Add to that the faster pace, and increased volatility and I'm having some fun.

i am a big fan of heads up, I prefer the sit and go's although it seems the pros play more cash games heads up.

Good luck with HU. Not a game I enjoy much. I prefer the slower thinking approach.

Playing $5 sngs's at the moment. Was playing $100NL cash but ran into one player that hit everything and lost 10 buy-ins in one session. That started a pretty bad run for me in everything 6max, tourneys, etc. At one stage got KK 5 times in 6max and 3 times was all in pf vs Aces. I think the odds of running into AA when you have KK in 6 max is 20/1 so I was definitely running bad there.

The $5 HUSNG's are really soft though. So good playing against noobs limping every button except for their strong hands. Even with really bad luck they are super profitable.

Even the $100NL I thought was a bit soft but the rake is a killer. Played for a few hours against one player and it was pretty swingy where I was down 4 or 5 buy ins and come back to stack him for a few buy-ins. End result was I was up 1.5 buy-ins, he was down 4 buy-ins and rake was up 2.5 buy-ins.

lol, why are you using so much slang? did they not teach you how to speak properly in school?

Anyways, i was on the heads up seen with a 150 dollar bankroll, and i usually played the 3-10 dollar games, and if your good it is great for your bankroll!
