Having trouble with live $1/$2 NLHE
I've recently started playing live $1/$2 NLHE over the past few months. Despite the incredibly loose/passive games, I've found myself losing and am currently down by almost $1000. Do any of you have advice for switching from online to live play?
I've been usually buying in for 50 BB. I can often open up with a 5-8BB raise and get called by multiple people. My large raises and 3 bets rarely receive any respect. Because of this I try to play very tightly, but it seems like I often get into tricky situations where I get half my stack in with AK and don't hit the flop in a multiway pot, or an ace hits the flop when I'm holding KK or QQ.
I'm wondering if maybe I should switch to a short stack strategy to make sure I can just get all in preflop. Does this seem like the safest option until I recover my losses?
