I bought in for 100 in a 2/3 blind game and ran it up to 2,000.... I could not get off the table and lost my stack to 1100 and ended up playing blackjack and then going to play the 5/5 300 buy in and losing all of my money. I played for over 12 hours straight.... I have noticed I am having this issue with playing alot of hours and not leaving until I lose most of my money... please give me suggestions.

Restrict your table/buy-in limits in your poker software. In pokerstars the feature is available in Tools/Responsible Gaming ...

Yeah, maybe you are addicted. Can't really control yourself, the game is influencing negatively in your life. We all play because of the thrill of winning, it's fun.

Take a break, study the game and maybe study how your brain can get addicted.

My suggestion is what would you said to a dear friend if he/she lost all money by playing 12 hours straight.

Sorry to hear that man. That's terrible. I think many poker player's have this issue. Including myself. I've lost count how many times i ran a 100$ buy-in too 500, 600, 800 on the 1-2 and didn't leave only to be slowly tilted off. Poker is a very streaky game. When your running hot the stack builds fast. All it takes is one big loss and you down a couple hundred. Then you find yourself slowly declining been there done that. Once fatigue sets in which typically happens after 6 hours on the table your no longer on your A-game.

The best thing you can do wish i follow this advice as well, if you win 2x your buy in call it a day. Trust me all that matters is that profit # at the end of the month. Nothing else.People get caught up in the moment, there feeling good, there stacks high and everything is going great then BAM! It's over. Go home happy always.Just imagine how you'd feel with that 2k in profit...that sucks.

its crazy because I did the exact same thing last week, built my stack from 1 buy in to around 1600$ and lost it all

I think i'm gonna put a time restriction to my games to either 1 am or 2 am max.... no more overnight

You are playing to be in action, therefore you can not leave until you are busted. Focus on having a winning session as your goal. You need to change your mind set from being in action to booking a win for each session. Try to book as many wins in a row that you can. Set your reasonable target goal of a win amount that you would like to take home and get your tail out of the seat with a W. Remember the game is going to be there tomorrow, so you do not need to play 12 hour sessions. You also need to identify why you went busted and could not hold onto your chips.

Sounds like you need to set a time limit for how long you play, and learn how to count cards.
