You can never win poker if you do not have a strategy.

To play, you must have a new or modified strategy, as playing without a game plan or a strategy is just like going to fish without a net.

A player with a strategy at hand can use it anytime when he needs it. Also, having a strategy is not enough; you should create a custom strategy instead of making use of the standard ones already developed by famous players.

When modifying or developing your strategies, it is necessary to consider your strengths and weaknesses, as those give you the most ideal and compatible poker strategy.

Being a shark on the poker table requires being able to detect the poker strategies of your opponents. And also grouping the opponents into their corresponding classes. For instance, controlling, trickster, erratic and wild players have their different strategies and beating them can be difficult for particular reasons.

A controller is a player who is aggressive, and always intimidates his opponents. He shows no mercy while maintaining control on the table.

The trickster and wild strategies are not too different from each other, both always calling or raising when they have nothing and do not often show bad hands.

It is difficult to predict erratic players because they are always using different styles. Being an unpredictable player could contribute significantly to your success at the table.

This is true. This is what we call being a balanced player. The "strategies" outlined by the pro's are not EXACT face value ways to play hands, they are the best long term mathematical decision. Which includes balancing your range and balancing your bluffs. The "hybrid" strategies that are made up by you and I, should change every street to reflect the best long term decision, whatever that may be.

Maybe

Against weaker players I just c bet often and value bet to death it's straight forward. Against better players it's dangerous to play chess with ak and re raising 5 bets to what you think is good because he may just have pocket 5-5 and call. Realistically great player vs good player will always have the nuts vs second best if it goes to showdown so why not just sit back pay like a nit and take small pots especially in a cash game. You can see Helmuth do this in some cash games when he is running good.

This is why Tournaments were invented when players are to good because antes and blinds keep the action live and force gamble or go home. To play like your saying in a cash game vs good players isn't a profitable one on average.

I forget which book it is, but one of them made a good point in the first few pages, saying that its not about figuring out what you should do in this or that position with this or that hand, it is about making the best decision for the particular hand and game you are playing at that moment. Each situation will be different, as the difficulty of the game and the opponents you play against vary and change so much. What turns out to be a great decision in one situation, with one particular hand, might not be a good decision in another situation, with the same exact hand.

One very simplistic example would be if you know one particular opponent likes to bluff/semi-bluff a lot with draws and low pairs, but usually slow plays his really big hands, then you can use that information to decide whether or not you should call his lead out after the turn with your over pair pocket aces, or even jam on him, suspecting he is on a semi bluff again. That might be a great read and great move for you, but if you try it against a player you do not know well, or who you know to be someone who only raises when they have a very strong hand, it could end up being the wrong move and could cost you your whole stack.

Variants to "balanced"

I understand GTO and the other basic strategies, but in the actual game, it's very likely that you need to vary from your "strategy" based on the reads you're getting. There's also a big difference between live and online, but in either case, things like "run good" and tilt are big factors that need to be taken into account.

Basically, cash games are more loosely played than tournament games as I've experienced, so playing loose will also lead to more aggressive counter-strategies that call for matching the style of play with bigger bets while also controlling the pot with check/calls.

Bottom line, "strategies" must be subject to dynamic change, which really means that they are not specifically strategies at all. Your gut is the big factor, guided by a general strategy that includes several variants.
