Hand Values and suited value

I was playing around with hands on pokerstove and found something quite interesting and confusing.

Pokerstove seems to place more value on suited connecting cards that offsuited cards. Thus, KQs is defined as more of a "premium" hand that AQo. However, heads up, AQo is a 7:3 favorite over KQs. Although ATs is defined as more premium that AQo, AQo dominates ATs about 4:1 I think. And KQo loses alot of value if it is not suited, KJs and KTs being rated higher than KQo even though KQ would dominate either hand.

I understand that suited cards can connect better with the flop and can give a potential flush draw that is relatively hidden while the offsuited cards cannot, giving the player more opportunities but these values need deep stacks and multiway pots, something I don't honestly feel I encounter much at 2nl where buy ins are 100BB and there is rarely any player with more (except the rare fish who has not left the table with over 400BB). I was wondering if this was the only value in suited cards or if I am still missing something.

I don't think your heads up comparisons are fair.
AK is a far better hand than 22 yet AK is a small dog to it.

Having said that I agree I'd rather have AQo than KQs/ATs especially in scenarios were villains range is going to be pretty tight. Perhaps we can't expect this degree of complexity from poker stove though as in most cases having a suited connector is better than an off suit semiconnector one card value higher.

The relative strength of something being suited increases as the card values get lower.

Those numbers are for limit poker, where its easier to draw. But it'll give you an idea about what suitedness is worth.

Also notice how much more profitable AK and TT+ are than the rest of the hands. Those hands are where you win your money. The rest, you just hope to break even.
