Playing Zone Poker on Bovada .02/.05

I was dealt 33 in late position and limped in to the hand.

BB checks

Flop:
7 T 3

BB bets .11
I call.

Turn:
K

BB bets .22
I call.

River:
K

BB bets .44

Here is where I'm not sure of what to do. Should I re-raise him? Or smooth call hoping he doesn't have K (7,T,3) or am I over thinking it on what cards he could have?

You are out thinking it. Your opponent will need to have runner runnered you (which is very unlikely) to beat you with those hands, so we can raise. You are playing this full house a bit too passively for my liking.

We could have raised the turn here and get value from our set and maybe BB's top pair hands or even a ten so we can get more value. It is also a bet where we can induce, because if we do get re-raised, we can ship the money in happily (we can realistically on be afraid of 77 because the rest of the hands we are beaten by would have probably raised preflop). Although I do see merits to bombing the river when the person bets if you think opponent can call with top pair or two pair.

There are many hands you beat and few hands you will lose.

I believe you are ahead and rather maximize your strong hand by raising him on the river.

If he has higher full house then you have to pay him off. Seldom you see full boat vs full boat though.

As this is zone poker, the possible hands field the opponent may have is bigger, especially when you limped and he didn't need to invest any more to see the flop. I would raised in the flop and not limped, so he should pay for the flop. But as I mentioned, if zone poker is the rush poker and you get a new table every hand ( I hope Zone poker is this type of poker), he really can have the better fullhouse. I'd smooth call in this situation.

BTW, how did the hand end?

Why would you limp with a PP? If I get a PP in LP and it's been folded to me I will always raise and so should you in order to avoid these kinds of situations.

I think raising the turn would be the best since we're getting calls from his Kx and 10x hands. Now on the river, he is holding a K most of the time, so I think it's wise to call now that the board got ugly and you don't really know where you stand because of the passiveness on the previous streets.

When you flop the set, you need to drop the FPS thinking in favor of building the pot. Sure, you sometimes lose a bit of value from not keeping the low end of his range in, but you also decrease the value you get when he has enough to play a large or mid-sized pot. You also need to be aware of the possibility that the turn and/or river may bring cards that will kill your action. For instance, if he has T7, T3 or 73, he may well be willing to stack off on the flop or turn, but less so if at all on the river.

I ended up smooth calling his river bet. I let him keep being the aggressor in the situation and he had 84 suited. haha

I kinda figured he didn't have much or he would have re-raised on the flop, but it felt like Kx might have been perfect for him to see the flop.

You shouldnt really ever limp any hand you want to play! You are not always trying to show down to win. I prefer not showing my marginally strong hands if I can avoid it. Just get what value you can and try to stress them with the fact that you may have been bluffing.
