You are in late position and look down at K-K - instantly, you get this little giggly feeling deep down bc you know you are about to make some money!

*Now, what if you're playing a cash game and the tightest nit in the world, let's say somebody in their late 50's, who has not played a single hand at all, decides to limp 3-bet your raise, and then you follow that up with a 4-bet, and he instantly shoves all in - can pocket Kings still be considered the best hand preflop in this situation?

What are the possible scenarios, if not the one above, where you can lay it down preflop? I know I have personally laid it down 2-3 times over my poker playing career. Yes, I'm aware that it's -EV long term, but poker is situational at all times. Sometimes, the table dynamics and live reads plays a huge part in your decision making.

-You tell me, can we ever lay this hand down preflop?
-Have you guys ever laid it down?

I think if he never has anything but AA we can lay it down.
But how often do people often only turn up with AA?? Well never tbh they will usually have AK KK as well.

2% is usually very tight but KK is considered to be able to go against all ranges. We also can spike a King if we lose or somehow get a straight.

But in the end follow your guts.

Listen, I think this is an over-thought subject.

And while I have seen KK laid down by the pros on a few occasions to players with AA, the chances that someone has AA when you hold Kings are .8%. KK, unless i have the strongest gut feeling on the planet, will be jammed all in pre flop 98/100 times I'm on a table.

Folding KK is and option as it is with any pair, there is no special rule for KK. If you think best EV decision is to fold, then you do.

Typical nitty 3bet range my level NL5 zoom is {QQ+,AK}, typical nitty 4bet range is {KK+}, Calling 3bet with AK is standard play.
