No HH's homies, this is live play. $200 buy in, 120 entrants, 15 minute levels, 5,000 starting stack.

Level: 300/600 (no ante)
Pertinent stack sizes;
Hero (Me): 37,500 "Chip leader"
Spewy calling station: 29,000
Maniac Aggro: 24,500
Attractive tight/passive rock (nit, albeit a sexy nit): 24,000

Available information: T/P rock tends to check/call with anything less than the stone cold nuts, but also tends to check/call with marginals as well.

Spewy calling station is just that, a calling station that appears to have sold his soul for miracle rivers. Seen in the neighborhood of 10-15 straight flops. Check/calls or cold calls with bottom pairs and such, then tends to somehow improve on the river, and still never re-raises. Fresh meat I suspect.

Maniac aggro is pissed because I got much of my stack through him. I floated him earlier by check/calling with AK on a 9 high flop, then open shoving the turn. He folded and I showed my AK. About 20 minutes later I flopped middle set and employed the same exact move and got an auto call by an under-pair, drawing dead. He's playing extremely fast and extremely loose, and has been for about 15 minutes.

Situational information:

12 pay, 18 remaining.
I am CL, with 2nd - 6th all having around 24,000 - 29,000.

Hole cards: 5h 6h

Pre-flop action:

Maniac: aggro posts SB
T/P rock: posts BB
Folds around to me
Hero: (C/O) Raises 1200 to 1800
Spewy calling station: Calls 1800
Maniac aggro: Calls 1500
T/P rock: Calls 1200

Flop: Qh 8h 7d (Pot: 7200)

Maniac aggro: Bets 600
T/P Rock: Calls 600
Hero: Raises 1200 to 1800
Spewy calling station: Calls 1800
Maniac aggro: Calls 1200
T/P rock: Calls 1200

Turn: Qh 8h 7d 8c (Pot: 14,400)

Mainiac aggro: Bets 1200
T/P Rock: Calls 1200
Hero: Calls 1200 (after asshole attempting to call clock, when we have no such clock rules)
Spewy calling station: Calls 1200

River: Qh 8h 7d 8c 3h (Pot: 19,200)

Maniac aggro: Bets 19,700 and is all in
T/P Rock: Calls 19,200 and is all in
Hero: Folds after again taking 3-4 minutes
Spewy calling station: Calls 19,700

Showdown:

Maniac aggro: 2 pair, Q's and 8's: QQ88T
T/P Rock: Ace high flush: Ah Qh 8h 3h 2h
Spewy calling station: Full house, 8's over 3's: 88833. (That's right, 8s 3d is what he started with)

Thoughts on the hand, my play, and anything else are appreciated. Obviously I was no longer CL after this hand. Spewy calling station took a massive CL and started seeing literally every hand to the river, so I took a different approach after that hand. I decided to play uber tight and let him bust everyone else, and only play premiums and play those very quickly PF and on the flop.

Ended up taking 2nd to Spewy calling station.

Nasty, if the maniac bets more on the turn, and is called, you can fold, as you are probably behind with your draw (not considering the end cards) to either a set or full house most likely 7s/8s given the preflop action. You've clearly played the draw aggressively on the flop, given the stack sizes, I think your flop raise is ok (could possibly be a little more? given pot size, either calling or making a decent raise for fold equity here, not doing your draw too much justice), and you made a decent fold on the river.

The only questionable action imo is opening with 56s with a calling station to speak after you, stealing from CO and/or opening with suited connectors is alright when the situation calls for it, but there's not going to be many post flop situations where your going to be comfortable v this guy. I dunno what you have to gain playing 56s with a guy who will see you through the streets with nearly anything where his raggy ace is probably good?

It's a murky hand post flop, but it's a situation could have been avoided, my 2 pence :)

Grats on the cash

Ever say something out loud and not meant to? I bet like that sometimes. Like as soon as my chips hit the middle I had that same exact thought. There's no excuse for it lolz, I just got a little carried away.

Sometimes it's easy to get over confident when you're having your way with a table.

Good feedback. Thanks for your time.
