If it were me I would go all in with the JJ. At least I knew I had a pair if nothing else. And as we all know its the river that either gives us the hand or kills us.

I would have to say AK suited because I have seen the same situations multiple times on Full Tilt anyways and the JJ get cracked about 90% of the time.

I try to avoid playing JJ at all costs...but if your short stacked, thats an all in hand.
Theres a VERY good chance your the only one at the table with a pocket pair...and an even better chance that you have the highest pocket pair.

if you only have enough money to make it thru the next blinds, than AK would be a great bet too.

they way i see it, its always better to lose betting on a decent hand than it is to go out with an 8,4 on the big blind.

I would take the JJ. Like it was mentioned before, you would probably be ahead, pre-flop.

I think J-J, especially if somebody at my table i shortstacked because then I could face a smaller pair or A-x (x<J) and have edge against both scenarios, and A-Ks would only have a coin flip against a smaller pair. However, so close to the bubble I would consider folding both J-J and A-Ks if I'm deep stacked, raise and another deep stack decides to push.

I would have to say AK suited because JJ seems to be my demon hand late in an MTT. Plus if your opponent has QQ you are better off with AK than you are with JJ.

i usually am more comfortable with AK suited because it seems that jacks almost always get wrecked by AK in my experience

AK is only a big underdog to 2 hands (obv AA/KK). It dominates all hands with an ace or king in it, is favoured over all other non-paired hands and basically a coinflip with all other pairs.

I'd take AK any time when shortstacked.

Ahhhh! JJ is my nemesis hand. There are so many cards that can beat you. I would go w/ AK suited, although AK is about the same as JJ.

If i had to shove I'd pick the JJ. Math says pick JJ, and a lot smarter people than me made math, so I'm going with them. People always say it's a coin flip, but it's nearly a 7 3/4 spread, thats a lot of points to ignore. That said, I do hate the red headed stepchild of pocket pairs as much as any pokergods fearing player.

Well you can take the AK off out of there because clearly no one would want that ahead of the AK suited. As for AKs vs. JJ, it depends on the table that you're at. If you have a bunch of donkeys calling, I'd rather have the AK because you're likely up against some kind of AP, KQ, etc. If you actually have good people left, I'd take the JJ, because it's simply a better hand and hands that will call you are more likely to be high pocket pairs.

I would avoid going all it at this point.. slow play... you short stack so you need people's chips, you don't want them all to fold.

If I thought, or knew it was gonna be me and one other, Id say the Jacks, but if I am extremely short, and I think a few people are gonna make the call I'd want AK suited or not. Id be PISSED to have my jacks busted by K2 or A4.

If I am short stacked it really doesn't matter both are big enough hands, hopefully I have the dominating hand when called.

I agree with RoTs - either one is a push if I'm short stacked this late in the tourney. Although I think I would hesitate a bit more with JJ.

mh..... I think it depends on your position. If you're the button with A 7 offsu. you can go all-in. Otherwise I would only play AK AQ and the pp 99--->
.......or you just trust in your feeling.

I wouldnt go all in

I would raise and see what my opponents do. All in with AK is a big overplay especially near the bubble. Why risk your tourney on a showdown where you dont know if you have the best hand? This is kind o f adumb post in my opinion and I wouldnt play any of thos starting hands that aggressively.

You gotta take JJ in my opinion because you`re ahead of everything except 3 hands, AA KK or QQ. You get sucked out oh well, that`s poker.

It would all depend on the action in front of me before the hand. If no action JJ, if Im re-raising shoving AK.

assuming your doing the betting and not the calling jacks in both cases are the way to go. wouldn't be calling with AK maybe ok to push with though. I still go back to a question. What was your goal at the beginning of the tournament? To make money? Or to make final table/win ? If playing to win you'd probably push with all of them right?
