So ive been playing for 2 hours and i have a fairly good read on the table i think lol
the problem is nobody on the table ever seems to make it to showdown

on my right i have 2 players i marked as red for agressive poss reg, the 2 players seem to always have goods and i was extracting little value when they were behind

4 players to my left seem to be very fishy, 3 of them passive, and 1 possible calling station, i changed my oppinion of him when i witnessed him call down a player with 6 4 needed an 8 after flop, and getting lucky with turn n river hitting 4 4, he called all streets

as im writing this a player i had no great feelings about called my reraise, i had A J + position on him, i wanted him to pay, Jack high board he tries to scare me off not respecting my raise n finally i get a stack and i win a hand :)

anyways back to my point, how would you play against such passive players to get value from them, my stack has been swingy but never down by much, but slowly growing without showdowns, how would you extract value?

Im an MTT playert not cash and trying to grow my cash game on lowest stakes

In this case personally, I manipulate them by words or actions :p. I would try to bash them by raising over pot, showing my bluffs, and everything to destroy my image. And I will use time. Passive players will get bored time by time and they will make mistakes late game.

If your opponents are passive and fold too often then just raise a wider range of hands and cbet most flops. Eventually they'll fight back or you'll just start collecting their blinds. If they raise holdings that are too weak then 3-bet them in position more often and take more pots down pre.

yeah thats what i was doing i was slowly building a stack, but small mistakes cost me some of that profit, mainly calling there 3bets with medium type hands and then having to fold, but i can honestly say i was growing, but it took me 2 hours to make $1 profit haha, is that normal for this type of table, if i hadnt made small mistakes i probably would of ended with $2.50-$3 profit, so im putting that down to a lesson i need to learn for myself lol

my biggest pet hate was when i had J J on the button, a "red player" one that i had marked red because if he is being super agro he usually has the goods, so i wanted to see where i was in the hand and reraised 20c instead of calling 9cents, he shoved all in, i felt i had to fold and wished i had just seen a flop, however could i have gotten away from him if i got the overpair, probably, but maybe it would of cost me more to find out

and another hand, i had AK, guy called my 20c reraise dont know what he had but by turn i had wasted 70c and i was back to square one with the profit lol

If the table is bad , well , it's part of the game . If the passive players are on your left , steal all the time their blinds so no broblem , soon or later they are gonna play for their stack and then game over for them . The big fish , set mines/ traps for them with the good hands and prepare to get paid for these , have patience while time passes by and don't get worried about stacks/chips not get raised . Play your Agame and all will be fine .

The passive players becomes agresive when you bluff them all the time. If you are not for this option, leave the table or just play and hope that they will start playing.

If you´re not making money, change the table, even because you´re playing cash for a short period of time. In this beginning, you should start in low limits, independently if you already have a good BR.

Remember that in cash-games, most of the hands will be won without showdown; the small percent, will become a big pot, and will granted a big hit for you.

My suggestion is to grind it out, exactly as you have been doing. Another possible strategy to employ is set a target for winnings at a table. Once you reach this target, leave, unless you are sure that you can extract more value because of the style of play. You could also multi-table to ensure you are playing steadily and not get bored or frustrated, where you might be more prone to making mistakes. But when you have a hand like JJ, and get re-raised, you might be up against AK or AQ. So you might be in a race. And if you want to see flops, be prepared to call 3- and 4-bets rather than re-raising. This can be profitable at small stakes where you might hit your set against ace highs and get a pot built. Good luck with whichever strategies you employ.

There is no good table or bad table. There is only bad luck and bad cards. By my experience, on every table you have passive and agressive players. It depends on you how you will play. My opinion :)

I dont like passive playing. It is good to have one player who will raise a lot. Then if you win hand, you will earn a big amount. I avoid bad tables - with passive players. Maybe because I play agressive.

If you have mostly passive players, then dominate them when you have position and steal blinds as much as possible. Remember, though if they play back at you you are probably beat. This sounds much more like a slow grind table than a get paid big table. If you prefer to deal with more aggro players and maniacs where the risk is a bit bigger but so are the rewards, then change tables. Go with where you are comfortable and can make a profit. Gl!

passive players means you decide what pot size you want. lose small win big

tight weak. help them do what they want to do and thats fold.

weak fishy players go value town and keep them in the hand to get a payday

aggressive fish... turn passive and let them hang themselves

tags study their lines and attack their weakness... most are abc

lags make them pay to get draws they love flops as well so be aggressive

Good for you, the players of your left are passive. You need to steal the blinds every time. But if they call or raise, of course you have to fold with a bad hand. They will fight only with their premium hands

Sometimes you can raise to the others too, but be careful and patient
