:stupido2: Let's say you have a very very short stack and you neeed to do something or you will be eliminated. Usually, I pick a good hand I get usually anything with a King or Ace and go all in. What hands would you go all in in this situation?

Depends how everyone else at the table was playing and what size stacks they also had.

You may find you can steal some pots with any 2 cards, sometimes the cards you have mean nothing compared to your opponents.

playing holdem is more about the betting than the cards
if you can decieve your opponent you can make him think you have a class A hand when you really have garbage
^^^like grumble said it also depends how your opponents play
if they're really loose, dont pull all-ins with J10s or K9 hands, because he/she will probably call
consider your position as well
as for hands, when i'm shortstacked, ill play most pockets, and depending on how i read my opponents ill even play ducks (2,2) if im that desperate
aswell as the big hands AK AQ etc

asuming that by really short stacked you mena the blinds will force you all in. i believe it is best to pick your own poison i have blinds coming up that force me all in and i have a small pair or even only a ace i would probably go all in. it is a desperation move that we all have had do before and will have to do again. the above people gave good advice however the out come will depend on two things those that you are playing against they may consider you a easy pick off and of course as we all know the cards from the dealer carry some weight also lol. good luck and may you never have to make that decision again.

Pending on the tourniment, I'f I'm like one out of the money, I dont play much because the other will knock eachother out. I'f I'm not even close to the money, I'll play anything with an ace.

t1riel - I do the same thing. I wait for a good hand - maybe with an A and higher card and give it a go. Sometimes, you need to do that just to double up and stay a bit longer in the tourney. Playing touneys is different than a single table money game. You don't have to accumulate chips to be a winner like you do in a tourney or freeroll. You can pick and choose the hands you want to get into. But in a tourney or freeroll you need to accumulate chips ... hopefully all of them!! :)

All in is for 2 things.. #1 If you do find yourself short-stacked, then you're going to have to pick an opportune moment to put all of your chips at risk, probably several times, in order to rebuild a viable position; otherwise, the blinds will just eat your stack up. If you find yourself in this situation, try to put all of your chips in with a starting hand that's at least a pair, or contains an Ace or King, or a suited hand - in order to give yourself the most outs.
and

#2Also, don't call an all-in bet heads-up unless you have a real hand, since it's likely that your opponent also has a very strong hand and is deliberately trying to pull you in.
It's best to have a good hand and to be the one calling the other player all-in, if possible.

Notice the part about a REAL hand it is is best to have a good hand and to the bhe one calling the other player all-in if possible. Not to mention they are deliberatly trying to pull you all-in.

for being shortstacked... i normally play pockets and anything with an ace... but you need a good read on everyone else at the table... if other players are loose make sure you have a pretty good hand to go all in with.

Most decent players will call your bet with moderate cards.

I normally just fold everything until I get big slick or a high pocket pair.

If I am shortstacked I will push with any ace if there has been no raise yet. Also, any pocket pair is usually a sign to throw in into the middle.
