Patterns.

Playing junk early in the game can lead them to believe you are a fish. Just by getting to one or two cheap showdowns with crap, it can set up for the double up later. After the hands, play tight. Get it in good and reap the benefits.

WARNING

It's tempting to want to keep up the style, because we as poker players like to try and make things work, but I promise you, showing a wider range early then tightening up is everything.

Totally agree with you. Many recommend playing for beginners with a range of hands - {99+, ATs +, KQs, AQo +}.
But you will be read 100%
Play with a wide range, believe in a long distance it will be a plus

This does not always work. You must consider two important points:
1. The adequacy of the players at the table. A real fish does not even look at such things. Fish plays as it should, on its map and does not think about the cards of opponents. Fish does not think at all. Therefore, she and the fish.

2. Stability of the players. All you said is true, if the villains have the opportunity to accumulate some statistics or track your actions in a more or less long time. For this, you need to play with these people (not fish! :D ) Quite a lot of hands.

It does not work in Zoom, does not work in tournaments where there are thousands of random players.

I think this is so table dependent. You need to know that the table is actually paying attention. This is just throwing away money in micros.

It works in reverse as well. Play super tight to showdown a few times then loosen up and bluff a lot.
Watch people fold to you....

I try to break up my image by raising in late position with hands like 7/8, 9/10, etc.. Not horrible plays and it will stick in people's minds,"Wow, that guy raises with 7/9.". I have always had a problem getting paid off with premium hands because it is obvious how tight I play. Mixing it up helps in several ways. If they think you are a tight player you can also steal alotta pots on the flop after raising pre-flop if an Ace or king comes, and if they think you are a nit you get paid off when your suited connectors hit on a low board.
