I posted hands before where I slowplayed sets, and the response was pretty much "Why??"

These are 3 hands from a session today. The check/raise hand - I was pretty sure he would raise me - is onr thing, but when I am IP do I want to call one street? On the 2 tone board, I dont think so, but the chance of him trying to draw to a flush is so small... All boards has some drawyness, the JQh perhaps the most.....

But I dont seem to be getting as much value as I can. Is my raise to big???

The JJ hand in SB, I could have 3 bet here, but IDK if I want to face a re raise - villain is agro vs me - and am I not turning my JJ into a bluff? I will get folds or 4 bet more than I will get called from this guy I think, so I am thinking more value in calling, but would like to know what you think??

I'm kind of in the same boat recently with hands like these as far as not getting alot of value, but i think i may be betting to hard b/c i usually make a pot sized bet if there are flush draws or straight draws. IMO though i think your playing the hands just fine, just getting unlucky that villains aren't catching TP, two pair, etc.

I think the only time i would ever "check" a flop is either in a 3 bet pot or a big multiway pot on a rainbow board....even than i think it's best to bet. Like they say big hand big pot right.

Also why no 3-bet on the 3rd hand with JJ?...

My .02 cents anyway

ah shit my bad, well given positions i definately think a 3-bet is more than justified here. The villains range is pretty wide being on the CO (at least my range widens quite a bit on CO) and i think for value a 3-bet is best? Also it's not like the villain is a huge nit with the stats given so again i like a 3-bet.

And if villain were to re raise again than JJ is a hand that is fairly easy imo to fold preflop....especially to a re raise in 3bet pots.

Hand 1, this flop is a lot wetter than it looks since the BB can easily be playing any number of connected cards that hit this flop.

Hand 2, this flop is a lot less dangerous for you, you can't be worried about the low connectors and you have a diamond. Depending on villain stats I can see a call behind line here as OK

Hand 3, as long as you check-raise most of your preflop flats here I don't have a problem with it.

Hand 1 is the only one you might consider not ch/r imo. The BB is tight and his most likely hand is a pp smaller than the Jack on the board. If he has a set all the $$s are going in on later streets and if he has say TT or 88 there is very little chance he's going to outdraw you but you'll likely get another street of value. If he were a loose fish raising the donk be would be a no brainer but with his stats I probably flat the flop.

3bet hand 3 every time and I'm willing to get it in if he 4bets. The table is short-handed and he's aggro enough to think you might just be making a move.
