After playing some HU tournaments I decided to try out a heads up game for cash. Man was it a trip....lasted about 2 or 3 hours. Some short stacker sat down , i took his first stack and he bought back in short. He went on a run and nearly cleaned my stack out until I did i rebuy to top off...eventually I got my money back and then some...sadly he left after a monster pot I won but it was a roller coaster ride.

Man now I know why some pros love heads up cash games. Its aggressive, its fast, its up and down, and it can go for hours.:coffee:

I do love them, but man I got punished for taking a shot at a higher level. One time I flop the straight and get pushed all in, guy shows a lower straight draw and gets a flush on the river with A 5 off suit.

Few minutes later another guy sits down and gets me all in...he has A2 suit and I have AJ suited...I'm on a draw and amazed to see I have him beat with a high card high kicker. Of course he nails a flush on the river....

Of course I shouldn't have taken these shots but i feel so gypped for actually being the favorite to win these two all ins and losing on the river to a drawed flush.

i used to play heads-up cash game on UB but the rake was killing me at microstakes. i had about 10 $ from cardschat freeroll, i could not redraw unless i get 50 $ so i played for all my 10 $ and in like 3-4 hours i made it to 50 $ and took them out.

Yeah the rake is a bitch, I'd be winning small pots and over time realize my stack was smaller than it should be. Cake has a format that I'm not sure is standard. Their lowest level of heads up cash is 10c/20c and the minimum buy in is $6 with the maximum being $20. I always stacked up but I had people sitting down with me playing with just the $6. That just seems dangerous but these people sit and wait for a great river and just shove all in and take a 4th of your stake with them .

Wow, im not sure if I could last for 2 to 3 hours playing heads up... I would think after that amount of time and hands, the rake would suck up your bankroll. I also don't think i would be able to handle playing 1 table at a time. Is this 1 table heads up cash/ heads up tournes profitable for you?
