Played a home game the other night with a guy who plays in Atlantic City a lot. He says when he firsts sits down he'll fold the big blind, even if he's not raised, and act like he didn't know to get players to push against him later. What are some thoughts on this?

Not for me, no. You're already paying rake and now you're going to throw away an unraised BB? I really don't see any pyschological benefits from doing this.

Sounds like useless gimmicks 2 me. Might as well sit and ask about hand rankings, if theyre gonna buy the BB thing then theyre gonna buy if you act totally ignorant (plus you wouldnt have 2 waste a BB).

sounds useless on a table you have no information about. how are you even that sure theyll pay attention, let alone think about it down the road. maybe if you knew for sure they were solid players..

Those were my thoughts too. I wouldn't think it would be worth it in the long run. There is also the added risk of possibily flopping a monster as well and missing out on a pot that couldve been won.
