There are a few things u need to consider. How often is this guy opening in general, and how often is he opening from early position? What have u seen him raise w previously? How tough does he play post flop? Answering these questions will help u decide ur action.

full ring this is almost always a fold unless they are allin. The real answer is quite simple, and by simple I mean extremely complex, lets use propokertools.com for this one.

First of all, you need to call 2bbs in a pot of 3+1.5bbs so your odds are... 2/6.5 = 30%, so you would hope to win this money over 30% of the time by calling, or win more than this (implied odds reference) maybe around 15-20% of the time.

http://propokertools.com/simulations/graph_hvr?g=he&h1=kq&h2=15%&s=generic

According to this graph, if you call you will have, going to the flop: over 33% equity over 30% of the time, and over 50% equity over 25% of the time.

Being out of position against a tight range can be difficult, but honestly flopping top pair usually gets a cbet out of people (seems like people mindlessly cbet kxx qxx boards) and small to medium pairs tend to give up on those boards after you call. All these things being said you can call or bluff raise at least 25% of flops, but won't be making fortunes on the implied odds scale, when you have the best hand, because people will usually only put more money in the pot if they beat your top pair medium kicker.

So whats the answer? If you feel confident in your game and understanding the future streets, then you could call even against a tight opener, but if you aren't sure how to play different board textures, or aren't sure you can fold when clearly dominated, or feel like your opponent will play really aggressively and put you in super tough spots all the time, then you should fold.

Synopsis: Most of the time its a fold, anytime I am vs a fish I call, 3betting is suicide vs an EP open.

wow! This is very enlightening!!

What about pocket pairs?

Considering, if you both hit you can possibly get their whole stack. HOw does this figure into the equation?

Do you know what an UTG openrange consists of in FR ? Then look at how KQ plays against that range. Raising an UTG open with KQ is just asking for trouble.

I'd personally fold...

Youre obviously hoping he has a pocket pair below Q yes?

Otherwise youre in bad shape, could be AA KK QQ or AK all of which youre most likely gonna face a big reraise...and what are you hoping to see on the flop

Flop comes K 10 4 rainbow, youre hoping he doesnt have AK i guess?
