I have AK, he has 99.

His stats are 25 / 8 / 3 (39%) over only 36 hands with no special reads.

Flop is AK9.

The board on the turn had 2 flush draws so he could have had a set, 2 pairs + FD or nut FD with a pair of Aces.

Is there any way I am not getting stacked here? :D

We got it in on the turn, he showed enough strength (he bets, I raise, he reraises, I shove) that I knew a set is a possibility.

Yes it would be a tough laydown. Most people go broke here.

Next time just run the hand through your mind, and think it over. Maybe you could get away.

Why can't you just put him that he may just more likely be holding K9 and A9 , these kind of players won't let these go. These two have 12 comboes versus 99 only 3. Just pop it in

A hero fold is always a possibility. It all depends on how you read your opponent. Here, you have meaningless statistics, and no clear line on his play. Top Two is a helluva hard hand to let go, especially when he could be drawing or playing a lesser two pair.

At least you had four outs after getting it all in on the turn.

Okay, the "he re-raises" here is something I want to look at. How big was it here to shove? Would have been better off with just a call to see the next card? Would a brick on the river changed your opinion? Would the board pairing change your mind, especially if it doesn't pair up for you?

Its difficult to get away from this, you still had outs to make the higher FH.Its a bit of a cooler so neither could fold really.

My stack was 100 bb, his was 280bb (that doesn't necessarily mean he is good, maybe he was just on a heater :D this hand certainly seems like it :p).

My push was for around half the stack so if that is a mistake it was quite expensive. I was tired and didn't calculate all possible combos he might have here that call. A set is worst case scenario, but there are plenty 2 pairs/FD/SD combos that are possible. I just thought that I get enough calls from worse in this spot... do I?

This was kind of my logic too.

I go broke here every time. Gonna be hard to win if you're laying down top two pair very often. On the other hand its a great example of the money to be made set mining.
