There are some things I am unsure about.

1) Whether I am right to be limping my a34X type hands and A24X etc type hands in earlier and middle positions to induce a multi-way pot. Or if I should be opening with a raise.

2) Whether to defend in the big blind in multiway pots with weak holdings.
i.e. Q346 rainbow, and other weak hands that I wouldn't play normally. I think whenever I feel I have the odds to defend and do, I just lose $. So maybe I shouldnt defend, but I dont know.

If any cash game omaha player could clear some things up for me I'd greatly appreciate it :ridinghor

1) I'm limping up front with A34x and A24x to get more people in the pot. I am raising from late position with these holdings if my A is suited. Reraise with A2 suited from late as long as your other two cards can make other strong hands.

2) I am not depending weak holdings at all in LO8.

The idea is to play hands that can make it to the river because many LO8 hands do. If you play weak holding and can;t let them go after the flop you will lose a lot of pots. If you are playing for miracle flops while defending your blind you will lose your whole stack.

It depends, I just play stuff. You're right to try to promote multiway pots with dry A2 & A3 holdings preflop. However, at some tables it doesn't matter if you raise or not, the pot will still likely go multiway. And the other two cards in the hand can easily push things towards a raise.

I would give more advice, but my LO8 game seems to be suffering these days :p.

I think kmixer is pretty spot on here. Goes without saying, but certainly call anything. And limp early (and hope for a late raise or 2), raise late.

Also agree on how to handle the junk hands. Now a 346x is not totally garbage. It's got low & straight possibilities. And if you hit an ace, 2 or (wow) both, you can be certain you won't be quartered. So I might call a single raise from the BB, but probably not a 3-bet. I might however fold 379Q, which is complete garbage, to a single raise.
