Hello everyone.

Although I am a sits and mtt player, I am starting to play cash and I have not yet decided on a certain strategy. Many years ago (remember I was 10 years without playing poker) there was a strategy called shortstack in which you entered the tables with 10 or 20 bb. Today I see that the minimum to enter a table is 40 bb, so that old strategy I suppose has become obsolete. I was looking here and there for strategies to play with 40 or 50 bb, rather mechanical, perhaps ideal for me because I am not a good post-flop player and because I do not consider myself ready to play deepstack yet.
Perhaps they tell me that I must specialize in a modality (sits, mtt, cash) and they are surely right, but I ask you please advise me on cash, which is what I am starting to play in these times.
I was thinking about starting to read Nathan Williams's book.
Well, sorry for the salad I have in my head, but hey, it's quarantine times hahaha.

Thank you for being there.

Kind regards from Buenos Aires.

Heya :)
To me, it makes the most sense to keep your stack auto topped-up to the maximum (usually 100BB) so you can maximize profits with the nuts. Having slightly tighter ranges pre-flop can make your post-flop life easier, but you should definitely invest more time in studying. If you are serious about grinding the cash tables, consider getting a HUD, mark all hands where you find yourself in difficult spots and analyze them. Don't look for exploits (unless obvious) before you have enough data on your opponents.

Good luck! :)

Its certainly possible to play cash games with a 40BB stack, and some people like it. I have tried it a few times, but its not really for me. One of the issues is, that as soon as you win a big pot, you are no longer a 40BB stack. And do you then sit up and leave the table? For me this become tiring, and I also dont want to leave, if I finally found a good table. Alternatively you stay, but then you are not really playing a 40BB strategy, and in that case why not just buy in full to begin with?

I like to go to the game table with a minimum pot for the table), if I can raise my pot at the table, it's a big positive reaction for me and a strong self-confidence at the table, I don't know why, but I feel better) I think when the opponents see that the opponent increases the pot at the table, they think of you carefully and this is certainly good luck for us :) But do not forget that the psychology of people is different, and you can not determine the exact strategy for all :) good luck ;)
