Hey everyone. I have been reading articles on here for a while and finally signed up so I can start getting some feedback on my play. I currently play 50nl and 25NlL online and seem to find times where I play really well and other times where I need to make serious changes.
I have not spent a lot of time on Poker Theory but I have played around 100k hands over the last 6-8 months with a 2 month break in between. Since joining a new site, I am running around 29/22 and have a solid line when it comes to showdown but my redline is not where I want it to be.
I am very happy with my value betting and ability to mix up the way I play solid hands but where I need improvement is my 3bet pot play and 4th and 5th street with medium strength/draw hands. Let me run a few questions by you guys and please feel free to chime up.
With a higher VPIP, is it correct to have higher aggression than someone with a lower VPIP or less overall aggression?
What is the standard play when you know Villain has TPTK/SET and is highly unlikely to lay it down and you have notflush draw? With minimal fold equity, do you lay it down? My simple odd calculations almost always tell me yes but I also understand the implied odds are there but if I ship and I am certain villain will call, isn't that -EV?
What do the best redline statistic players do the best? It would seem that they can put opponents on a hand early and blow them off the pot with regularity correct?
Bottom line is, my tendencies are to fall into passive play post flop when I play aggressive preflop. When I hit, I often extract close to max value however when I catch a piece and face resistance is where I think I am loosing money.
Over 22k hands I am at 5bb/100 at 50nl but the sample size is small and I am certain I can get to 10bb/100 with some work. I just need to get some next level thinking added to my game.
