I just deposited $20 on FT this morning and thought I'd check out Rush poker I've been hearing so much about. I was a little apprehensive about playing it. Thought I would lose by bankroll quickly.
Well I tried the micro stakes. played with $2 and was able to build it to $10. so I left and tried again with $2 and built it up to $20.
This is insane poker. I LOVE IT!....of course having success the first two sessions profitable would make me enjoy it so much.
So far its going well. I think Ill stick with the micro for awhile.

It's a high variance cash game. Constantly shuffling your opponents and not having a real read on anyone, IE. Someone who attempts to steal every time they are on the button or always 3-bets ATC in any position would be really hard to read unless you have played with that player before. Really, you are playing the situation at hand and most cases without reads you may find yourself in a world of hurt when you start giving less and less credibility to your opponents because of the fish that you have run into previously.

For example I just had QQ vs. a player I had no notes on, no notes in HEM never seen him before I raised on the button and was 3-bet by the big blind. I had 2 options, shove or flat call and try to hit a set in the chance that I was up against AA or KK and at best I was against AK, still a 48/52 (i think). Just gotta play the situation although this hand I did flop a set and he flopped two pair with 74s.

Just to give you an idea of the situations you will face and the players you will face as well. Best advice I could give you is to play ultra-tight at a 9-max game and just play like a total nit, AKos, AQs (ip), AJs (ip) AA, KK, QQ, JJ, TT, 99, any pocket pair with intent to set mine and see a flop for as cheaply as possible with pairs lower than queens.

You could be facing a 4-bet all in from someone who would normally be 74/55/10 in full ring but you may not know it.

It really isn't real poker it's situational on all hands. It is a great way to work on "situational" plays, get a lot of volume, and really testing your luck against variance. If you run good, you run good, but you will also run bad, it can be a quick bankroll booster or a quick bankroll buster.

Yeah when Rush first came out I thought it was the best thing ever, making over 300$ in a day or two,but then a couple days later I lost 300$ in less than an hour or so on tilt...so be really careful, and I would suggest a conservative BRM strategy.

I have played over 20k hands of limit rush $0.50/$1.00 and overall am up.

The variance is a killer, I had KK cracked 3 times in a row so be warned.

Looking at my HEM stats AA and KK are on par 70-80% holding up, but you see so many hands that the beats feel more regular.

Lowest point was -$70 but they gave a decent reload bonus for March so I ploughed through it, overall the games netted $30, the rest was bonus cash $280.

I have left it alone now to concentrate on MTTs but it gave me a serious amount of FPP so will be using these now to play some satellites :)

Sean pretty much sums it up imo. nice post Sean!

OP as far as even considering moving up in limits.... I would STRONGLY suggest to NOT do this. You're not rolled anywhere near high enough to play higher limits & imo would be setting yourself up for disaster.

Thank you! I'm always happy when someone responds to a post I make with positive or negative feedback, at least I get to know that someone read it. :D
