Hi all I had a hand in a cash game tonight, I was playing 02/05c games and I was in position and I 2x raised with QQ and then got three bet, I thought for a about 10 seconds either deciding to 4 bet or to flat call, so I elected to call, now I get trips the oop player checks, and I 1/2 bet pot, there was a flush draw on board should I have checked bhind or was my play okay ?

Make them pay for their cards. Last thing you want to do is give them a cheap/free card. Make the chasers pay and even shove the turn if theres no flush/straight out there and fish will call :) but ok players will fold so be selective but in the end it's always the right decision to bet a set.

Im pretty much always 4-betting with Queens if I dont have info and a solid read on villain. Bet 2/3+ pot on the flop at least! Way too passive here

Don't open for 2x unless you're comfortable playing a loose style that will see you facing lots of marginal situations. If you're not playing many hands, you have to aim to get more value from the ones you do play, and opening small isn't the best way to do so.

btw, with a pocket pair, when the board gives you three of a kind, you have a set. Trips is when you have one card in your hand to go with a pair on the board.

What was the size of his 3-bet? Unless it was abnormaly large, I would 4-bet because I have position on him. Post-flop, you have to bet in order to protect your hand and give draws the incorrect pot odds to call. Don't give him free cards when you have the best hand unless the flop is very dry, then you might check back and give him some hands or draws he's willing to put money into the pot with.
